Login and Registration Issues
Why can’t I login?
Have you registered? Have you been banned from the board? If so, you should contact the webmaster or board administrator to find out why. If you have registered and are not banned and you still cannot log in then check and double-check your username and password. Usually this is the problem; if not, contact the board administrator firstname.lastname@example.org
I have lost / forgotten my password – what should I do?
To recover these details click on the LOGIN / ACCOUNT button located on the top menu bar (just below the main image of the Bugatti) and then click on the “Forgotten Your Password?” link. Follow the onscreen instructions.
I registered in the past but cannot log in anymore!
The most likely reasons for this are: you entered an incorrect username or password (check the email you were sent when you first registered) or the administrator has deleted your account for some reason. If it is the latter case then perhaps you did not post anything? It is usual for boards to periodically remove users who have not posted anything so as to reduce the size of the database. Try registering again and get involved in discussions.
Why do I need to register at all?
Searching our Forum is free for everyone however, in order to post messages you will need to register. This will also give you access to additional features not available to guest users such as avatar images, signatures, messaging etc. Registration is free and takes less than 2 minutes so it is recommended you do so.
Why do I get logged off automatically?
If you do not check the “Log me in automatically” box when you log in, the board will only keep you logged in for a preset time. This prevents misuse of your account by anyone else. To stay logged in, check the box during login and this will store your identity securely in a cookie on your computer. If you are using a shared computer, such as in a library, school or internet cafe, or if you have reason to not trust any other users that might use this computer, we recommend you do not enable this.
User Preferences and Settings
How do I edit my user details?
Login to the Forum with the information you provided at registration and click on the “Login / Account” menu button located at the top of the Forum on the top menu bar just below the main image of the Bugatti car. Click on the link that reads “Edit Your Details”. Once all your changes have been made select “Update” at the foot of the form.
How do I add a Signature to my post?
You can set and change your Signature by following the same procedure above (Edit User Details). Please note that any links to commercial websites from signatures will be removed without warning.
What are Avatars?
Avatars are small images that people use to identify or distinguish themselves to other forum members. The CCH Forum allows its members to upload their own custom Avatars. These Avatars will then be displayed as part of the user info in all their posts. We request that only suitable images be used and reserve the right to remove any Avatars we deem not appropriate without prior warning.
What are signatures?
Signatures contain text information that you want to include at the bottom of all your posts. Please be aware that any links to commercial websites from signatures will be removed without warning.
The time stamps on my posts are incorrect!
Yes they are, sort off.. The time is set by our server which the Forum resides on. The CCG server is located in North America and runs from the Central Time Zone.
How can I report a post to a Administrator / Moderator?
You will find 'Report this post' links in all posts. These links allow you to alert the board staff to anything which you find to be offensive, objectionable or illegal. Again this will utilise your current email program and populate the message with the post’s details.
Can I email friends with post links directly?
If you think the thread may be of interest to someone else, you can forward the link to it by clicking on the email icon (envelope) within the post – this will utilise your current email program and populate the message with the post’s details.
What are Administrators and Moderators?
Administrators are the people who have overall control of everything that happens on the board. They oversee how the board is styled, what forums to create and how to organize them, what information to require from members and who to appoint as moderators.
Moderators oversee specific forums. They generally have the ability to edit and delete posts, move threads, and perform other actions. Becoming a moderator for a specific forum is usually rewarded to users who are particularly helpful and knowledgeable in the subject of the forum they are moderating.
Why did I receive a warning?
If the Forum Administrator judges any member to be breaking the above rules, the member will receive a warning. If the First Warning is acknowledged but the member breaks the rules for a second time, the member will risk being banned at the Administrator's discretion. Previously banned users found on the forum will be instantly deleted.
Who do I contact if I’m having problems?
