I know you haven''t been living under a rock for the past five years, and you surely already know that the Cadillac CTS-V is perhaps the nastiest 4-door on the planet. With the supercharged heart of a Corvette, this is the car that chases BMW and Mercedes on the Autobahn and does it in an unabashedly American way. The CTS is probably the best car GM has ever made, to be honest. The styling is the best expression of their "Art & Science" angularity, giving the car an instantly-identifiable look that''s upscale and still striking today. The V package adds a lot of brawn, most notably in the form of a deeper chin spoiler, side skirts, a matching rear valence, and a hood designed to clear the blower that lives underneath. Mesh grilles are a go-fast look that dates back to the early blower Bentleys and I don''t think W.O. will mind Cadillac cribbing them simply because they look right. Subtle V badges are about the only subtle thing about this car, and even in relatively calm Radiant Silver, this car has big-time presence on the road. And given that GM has only recently updated the CTS, this super clean 2009 could easily pass for a newer 2013 model, so your neighbors won''t even know what a bargain it truly is at about half the original sticker price. The interior of the V got a full makeover as well, with deeply bolstered sport bucket seats that are far more supportive and grippy than the standard CTS chairs. The Ebony leather remains in excellent condition with only very minor comfort marks, a testament to the quality of the materials (finally!) and the care that the car has received. A fat steering wheel, carbon-fiber accents, and gorgeous electroluminescent dials highlight a car that''s unquestionably aimed at the enthusiast driver. Just about everything was standard in the V, including climate control, power windows, locks, and seats, a sunroof, cruise control, and plenty of other electronic wizardry to keep technophiles entertained. The optional navigation system is seamless to use and the way it pops out of the dash is probably worth money to see. The V sill includes a nicely-sized back seat that''ll handle full-sized adults plus a trunk big enough for all their baggage. But the real reason you''re interested in this silver bullet is the engine, which is a relative of the Corvette ZR1''s 6.2 liter supercharged V8. With 556 horsepower on tap, performance is ferocious but it''s also docile enough to be a daily driver in rush-hour traffic. The blower comes online seamlessly and the car accelerates like it''s attached to a catapult at virtually any speed. Combined with a 6-speed automatic transmission, all you have to do is aim and stomp, and the car''s clever electronics will do the rest, making you look like a hero and preventing you from getting in over your head (well, unless you do something really crazy). Oversized Brembo disc brakes, an upgraded suspension, and gorgeous 19-inch polished alloy wheels (an $800 upgrade) with staggered 255/40/19 front and 285/35/19 rear performance radials all make it confidence-inspiring at speed. This is a Certified Pre-Owned Cadillac (check with Cadillac for warranty details) with its original books and window sticker, available for a fraction of the price of a new one. Given the hardware''s legendary durability, there''s really no downside to this awesome CTS-V. Call today! This vehicle is located in our Dallas/Fort Worth showroom.
