Description:

1963 ½ Ford Galaxie   History   The Ford Galaxie was a full-size car built in the United States by the Ford Motor Company for model years 1959 through 1974. The name was used for the top models in Ford''s full-size range from 1959 until 1961, in a marketing attempt to appeal to the excitement surrounding the Space Race. In 1962, all full-size Fords wore the Galaxie badge, with "500" and "500/XL" denoting the higher series.   For 1963, Ford saw no reason to radically change a good thing, and the 1963 model was essentially unchanged save for some freshening and added trim; windshields were reshaped and a four-door hardtop 500/XL was added. A lower, fastback roofline was added mid-year to improve looks and make the big cars more competitive on the NASCAR tracks with the added downforce. This 1963½ model, the industry''s first official "½ year" model, was called the "Sports Hardtop" or "Fastback"     VIN 3J66X175234   This stunning 63 ½ Galaxie had a rotisserie restoration 20 years ago. The car started its life in California and ended up in Dearborn, Michigan, where it was restored. This car was owned by a woman who had a car just like this in high school. She became unable to drive it due to issues with her hands. She purchased the car 15 years ago. It started life as an X-Code 352ci 2bbl with an automatic. It now has a 427ci.   It has won many 1st Place and Best In Show awards in it’s time. It was also in Muscle Car Review in September of 2000. It has also been featured on the Speed Channel.     Mechanics   427ci/425hp Engine, Date Code 11/22/63   Original Cast Iron Headers   1963 Galaxie Heads, Casting # C3AE 6090-J   Ford 9” Limited Slip Rear End with 3.90:1 Gear Ratio   4-Speed Borg Warner Transmission   Manual Drum Brakes   Manual Steering   Dual Holley 4bbl Carbs   Heat is Not Connected   Aluminum Air Cleaner   Chrome Valve Covers   Radiator is in Great Shape   Pertronix Unit   New Dual Exhaust System with Flowmaster Mufflers   Milodon Oil Pan   Newer Gas Tank     Body   Beautiful Rangoon Red Paint   Chrome Bumpers are Beautiful   Grille is in Nice Shape   Stainless Trim is in Great Condition   Doors Fit and Operate Properly   Door Lips and Jambs are Clean and Solid   Straight Quarters   Solid Trunk with Mat, Spare Tire and Jack   Frame and Floorboards are Solid   Undercarriage is Clean and Painted Body Color   Rockers and Moldings are in Great Shape   Wheels are Painted to Match   Dog Dish Hubcaps   BF Goodrich Tires - 235/70/15 Front, 255/70/15 Rear     Interior   Beautiful Red Interior   Bench Seat   Floor Shifter   Aftermarket Gauges Under the Dash   Column Mounted Tach   New Dash   Beautiful Steering Wheel   Gauges are Clean and Clear   New Door Panels   New White Headliner   New Red Carpet   Seatbelts Up Front Only   Wipers Work   Speedo Works       Don’t Miss Out! Within the last decade we have become the Motor City’s ultimate classic car, muscle and street rod dealership, both locally and internationally. Vanguard Motor Sales is an experienced seller with integrity, and our 100% positive feedback on eBay supports that! Click the “eBay Feedback” button on the home page of our website, or the number next to our name on eBay (vanguardmotorsales), and you will be able to read all of the positive feedback we’ve received over the last 10 years!   Our inventory is always stored indoors! We have a brand new, state-of-the-art, 30,000 square foot facility that is open to the public. We would love for you to stop by and see us! We are located 20 minutes away from Detroit Metro Airport, and would be happy to pick you up and drop you off if you fly in. New cars arrive daily, and our inventory is always changing.   Vanguard Motor Sales owns all of our inventory, we are not a consignment dealership. You are dealing directly with the owner of the vehicle, not a middle man. Every car we purchase is of the utmost quality. Our mission is to exceed your expectations!   If you are interested in this car, or any of our other 125+ cars, don’t wait for the auction to end on eBay. Call us immediately! You may lose out if you wait! Remember, our showroom is open to the public. When a walk-in customer puts a deposit on a car we reserve the right to close the eBay listing before the auction ends. If you think this car is “The One”, we can end the auction by adding a “But It Now” to the auction for the reserve price. If an auction ends and the bids do not meet the reserve price, we will continue to relist it until it sells. Do not hesitate to contact Tom 7 days a week!   We take over 100 photographs of the car, as well as a high definition video, so you know exactly what to expect. We encourage you to hire an independent inspector to check out the car, prior to purchase or bidding. We have a hoist available for views of the undercarriage, and our mechanics are available to speak with if you have any questions.   Vanguard Motor Sales has sold classic and muscle cars to customers in the United States, Canada, Australia, the United Kingdom, Germany, Sweden, France, Norway, the UAE and many other countries. We are experts in over seas shipping and handle all of the details. The shipping companies we work with are insured so your vehicle will be safe and secure during transport. We ship all of our vehicles enclosed, so they leave our shop clean and they are delivered to your driveway clean.   We''ve built our reputation on selling high quality cars honestly and fairly. We have up-front, no haggle pricing! Call Tom today, and let Vanguard Motor Sales park your dream in your driveway!   248-974-9513   We make every effort to represent this vehicle as accurately as possible and to the best of knowledge at the time of listing. Content is based on inspection, research and/or information provided by previous owner(s). We encourage buyers to make a thorough, independent inspection and investigation to verify the accuracy of any claims to originality, history, equipment or other information provided prior to the purchase. Vehicle is being sold with no warranty in "As Is/Where Is" condition.
