Description:

1969 Pontiac GTO Hardtop   History   The Pontiac GTO is an American automobile built by Pontiac Division of General Motors from 1964 to 1974, and by GM subsidiary Holden in Australia from 2004 to 2006. The first generation GTO was a muscle car classic of the 1960s and 1970s era. Although there were earlier muscle cars, the Pontiac GTO is considered by some to have started the trend with all four domestic automakers offering a variety of competing models.   The 1969 model eliminated the front door vent windows, had a slight grille and taillight revision, moved the ignition key from the dashboard to the steering column, and the gauge faces changed from steel blue to black. In addition, the rear quarter-panel mounted side marker lamps changed from a red lens shaped like the Pontiac "V" crest to one shaped like the broad GTO badge. Front outboard headrests were made standard equipment on all GTOs built after January 1, 1969.     VIN 242379R163164   This is a True GTO with a 242 VIN. It was built at the Arlington Assembly Plant, 3rd Week, April, 1969. The original paint code was 55 (Crystal Turquoise with Black Vinyl Top). The color has been changed to paint code 51 (Liberty Blue).    Full PHS Documents are included in the sale.   Mechanics   Numbers Matching 400ci/360hp Pontiac Engine, Freshly Rebuilt    Original “Born With” Engine Block, Heads, Intake   Professionally Built Muncie 4-Speed Transmission   New Hurst Shifter and Linkage, Including Reverse Lockout   10 Bolt Posi-Traction Rear End with 3.55:1 Gear Ratio   Upgraded to “Ram Air” Exhaust Manifolds   Upgrade to 2.5” Pypes Exhaust System   Fresh Carb Rebuild with Cliff Ruggles Kit   Recurved Distributor   Power Steering   Power Front Disc Brakes, Rear Drum    New Brake Booster, Master Cylinder and Front Brake Lines   Chrome Air Cleaner and Valve Covers   New Ball Joints and Control Arm Bushings   New Gas Tank     Body   Liberty Blue Paint   Plastic Nose is Gorgeous   Grille is in Great Shape   Beautiful Chrome Rear Bumper   Stainless Trim is in Great Shape   90% Original Sheet Metal, Including Floor Pans and Trunk Floor    Functional Factory Equipped “Power-Flo Ventillation”   Beautiful Fit and Finish   Doors Fit and Operate Properly   Door Lips and Jambs are Clean and Solid   Straight Quarters   Trunk is Solid, has a Nice Mat   Spare Tire and Jack   Undercarriage is Clean and Nicely Painted   Frame and Floorboards are Solid   Rockers and Pinch Welds are Solid   15x7 Rally II Wheels   New BF Goodrich Radial T/A’s - 215/65/15 Front, 245/65/15 Rear      Interior   Beautiful Black Interior   Bucket Seats with Headrests   Floor Shifter   Wood Grain Details on Dash   Performance Years Digital AM/FM MP3/iPod Capable Radio   Upgrade to Factory Dash Tach   Beautiful Door Panels   Steering Wheel is in Excellent Condition   Eastwood “Thermo-Coustic” Sound/Heat Floor Insulation   Seatbelts Front and Back   Tight Fitting Headliner       Don’t Miss Out! Call Tom 7 days a week at 248-974-9513!     Vanguard Motor Sales started 25 years ago as a part time hobby. Within the last decade we have become the Motor City’s ultimate classic car, muscle and street rod dealership, both locally and internationally. Vanguard Motor Sales is an experienced seller with integrity, and our 100% positive feedback on eBay supports that! Click the “eBay Feedback” button on the home page of our website, or the number next to our name on eBay (vanguardmotorsales), and you will be able to read all of the positive feedback we’ve received over the last 10 years!   Our inventory is always stored indoors! We have a brand new, state-of-the-art, 30,000 square foot facility that is open to the public. We would love for you to stop by and see us! We are located 20 minutes away from Detroit Metro Airport, and would be happy to pick you up and drop you off if you fly in. New cars arrive daily, and our inventory is always changing.   Vanguard Motor Sales owns all of our inventory, we are not a consignment dealership. You are dealing directly with the owner of the vehicle, not a middle man. Every car we purchase is of the utmost quality. Our mission is to exceed your expectations!   If you are interested in this car, or any of our other 125+ cars, don’t wait for the auction to end on eBay. Call us immediately! You may lose out if you wait! Remember, our showroom is open to the public. When a walk-in customer puts a deposit on a car we reserve the right to close the eBay listing before the auction ends. If you think this car is “The One”, we can end the auction by adding a “But It Now” to the auction for the reserve price. If an auction ends and the bids do not meet the reserve price, we will continue to relist it until it sells. Do not hesitate to contact Tom 7 days a week!   We take over 100 photographs of the car, as well as a high definition video, so you know exactly what to expect. We encourage you to hire an independent inspector to check out the car, prior to purchase or bidding. We have a hoist available for views of the undercarriage, and our mechanics are available to speak with if you have any questions.   Vanguard Motor Sales has sold classic and muscle cars to customers in the United States, Canada, Australia, the United Kingdom, Germany, Sweden, France, Norway, the UAE and many other countries. We are experts in over seas shipping and handle all of the details. The shipping companies we work with are insured so your vehicle will be safe and secure during transport. We ship all of our vehicles enclosed, so they leave our shop clean and they are delivered to your driveway clean.   We''ve built our reputation on selling high quality cars honestly and fairly. We have up-front, no haggle pricing! Call Tom today, and let Vanguard Motor Sales park your dream in your driveway!   248-974-9513   We make every effort to represent this vehicle as accurately as possible and to the best of knowledge at the time of listing. Content is based on inspection, research and/or information provided by previous owner(s). We encourage buyers to make a thorough, independent inspection and investigation to verify the accuracy of any claims to originality, history, equipment or other information provided prior to the purchase. Vehicle is being sold with no warranty in "As Is/Where Is" condition.
