Description:

Just when you think you''ve seen it all, a car like this 1966 Chevy Nova shows up and proves that there are still a few tricks to be found. The elegant, classic, and artfully done paint job makes it stand out, but it''s still the big power in a lightweight package that makes this Nova truly sing. This two-tone Chevy II is a showstopper, with a bit of Harley-Davidson attitude and a lot of artistic talent wrapped up in its gorgeous bodywork. The finish is obviously extremely nice with a brilliant shine, but that part''s relatively easy. What''s not so easy is finding exactly the right breaking point for the paint, and the way it emphasizes the slight kick-up in the quarters makes this former economy car look a lot more substantial and expensive. The black is deep enough to jump in and swim around in, while a red pinstripe separates the two colors and injects just enough color to make the car really pop. It''s been completely de-badged save for a small Bowtie emblem on the trunk, and with a cowl-induction hood it has a very sleek, sanitary look. You''ll note that the bodywork lines up well, critical on even the lowly Nova due to the body line that runs from nose to tail, and they made sure all the brightwork was up to snuff before bolting it back on. The black interior looks new from the headliner to the carpet, and where the exterior is fairly wild, the passenger compartment is rather tame. Factory seats were wrapped in new seat covers, although it''s possible that the back seat is original. You''ll note that the two-tone paint wraps into the door jambs, a sure sign of a quality job, and they obviously made some considerable effort to make it look all-of-a-piece. The steering wheel is from a late-model Camaro, complete with SS emblem in the center, and there''s a B&M shifter on the floor, but the balance is pretty much vintage 1966 Nova. Factory gauges monitor speed and fuel level, while a custom gauge cage holds white-faced gauges for oil pressure, voltage, and temperature. A fresh AM/FM/CD stereo head unit with remote was expertly melded into the original dash, giving it a custom look without beating you over the head with it. And in back, there''s a very clean trunk with a reproduction mat and a surprising amount of space. You could always get small block power in your Nova, so it should be no surprise to see a well-dressed 350 cubic inch V8 under that cowl-induction hood. Slightly customized with finned valve covers and a few Chevy Orange accents, it matches the rest of the car''s highly detailed look. A Holley intake and 4-barrel carburetor help make horsepower and judging from the condition of the paint on the block, it hasn''t been driven much since it was completed. They put in some additional effort to make the wiring look tidy and the satin black engine bay fades into the background to let the shiny small block really stand out. Ceramic-coated long-tube headers and Flowmaster mufflers give it that familiar Chevy high-performance sound, and with a TH350 3-speed automatic and a 10-bolt rear end, you don''t need to worry about damaging this car by having a little fun. The underside is quite clean, and it sits right on those tall 18-inch Milano wheels and 245/40/18 performance radials. A very trick, very fresh custom that takes one of the most popular cars of the period and turns it into something that''ll look awesome for years to come. Call today!
