Description:

1939 was the very first year for the Mercury line. And this convertible was one of only a couple of thousand convertibles produced that initial year. This car has gone through an extensive restoration to turn it into the fine Street Rod that it is today. The body is very straight and rock solid with no rust anywhere. It is all steel. It is dressed out in a beautiful Ford Electric Current Red paint that has been color sanded and buffed to a deep luster. All the chrome and stainless has been either straighten or re-plated. The interior is done in a dark tan leather that surrounds its passengers in luxury. The seats came out of a 93 Bonneville and are very comfortable. The driver''s seat is power adjustable. The steering wheel is a LeCarra Mahogany banjo on a tilt column. The dash is complimented with a complete set of great looking VDO gauges with gold bezels, a brand new Kenwood AM/FM/MP3/CD player that provides some great tunes and chrome AC/Heat vents. There is a custom floor console for the Lokar transmission shifter, power window controls, glove box and cup holders. Although you will probably rarely want to have it up, the car has a beautiful tan canvas convertible top with brass hardware and new wood. This fine car has plenty of power with it''s ZZ3 350 (345 hp) V8 backed up by a 200R4 automatic overdrive transmission and a Dodge rear end with 3:23 gears. It runs strong and can zip you through town or cruise down the freeway. The front suspension and several of the critical fluid reservoirs are out of a 82 Jaguar. The front end conversion has been done so well that you would swear it is factory. It has power steering and power brakes with disc up front and drum in rear. The car drives and ride as nice as it looks. No squeaks or rattles. This wonderful Street Rod is offered far under its construction cost.Drive it home for the reduced price of $74,250.00 $69,800.00!1939 Mercury ConvertibleYear 1939Make MercuryModel ConvertibleVIN#Color Electric Current RedInterior Dark Tan LeatherEngine Crate ZZ3 350 V8Transmission 200R4 Auto ODMileage 11,000 since restoredOther AC/PS/PB/PWPrice Reduced Price $69,800.00Stock No. #0770
