According to the Lincoln company records it is believed Locke mounted a 1926 body on a 1925 chassis and this was the only Town car built by Locke in 1926. Specially built for the New York Auto show 1925 and Chicago Auto show 1926. After a meticulous frame off no expense spared restoration, it won AACA National awards including the President cup in 1972 and the James Melton memorial cup in 1973. Recipient of 100 points at dozens of shoes; never beatin in any competition. Never driven since restoration and on display in private humidity controlled museum. The care is absolutely perfect. One of 4 fantastic Lincolns offered for the first time from the Hank Harper collection. The Lincoln was an automobile of grandeur. Rightly indentified in automtive history as the "Master of Precision" its creator Henry M Leland was 75 years old when he and son produced their first automobile. Leland won historic claim to fame as a supplier of engines to Ransom E Olds, the creator of the first Cadillac in 1903. Under Lelands Presidency, Cadillac won the 1908 Dewar trophy in England, introducing its self starter and all electric system in 1912 and 2 years later the first American 90 degree V8 automobile engine, produced in quantity. Lincoln did not endorse the concept of model years explaingin "There are no yearly or periodic Lincoln models; the Lincoln has reached such a state of development that drastic changes are neither necessary or desirable". Whenever it is possible to achieve an improvement in the Lincoln it is made interchangeable with previous design. Included with the Lincoln - all awards, book with all detailed specifications and complete set of photos for the complete restoration with complete history of car.
