This 1931 Ford Victoria is a cool old-school rod with a classic look that doesn''t cost a lot of dough. A traditional build on a rare body style, it''s a perennial favorite with V8 power and a steel body that''ll always be in demand. The body is steel, which is always a big plus with a vintage Ford, with fiberglass fenders and running boards that fit well and look right. The top got a minor chop that was professionally done, so the doors and windows fit right without the issues you get from an amateur job. There''s a 32 grille shell up front and a custom hood with vents down low so it doesn''t look like everyone else''s Model A hot rod, and the low-set headlights are a neat design element. Medium turquoise paint is a refreshing change from red or the now-ubiquitous flat black, and with a traditional flame job it still has that old-school look. Finish quality is decent and looks good at the local cruise night and little details like the flush-mounted turn signals, shaved door handles, and filled top offer custom touches that are the heart of any rod. This slick Vicky is now strictly a 2-seater with a pair of gray tweed buckets and plenty of legroom, something sorely lacking when it was a 5-passenger car with a back seat. It doesn''t break any new ground, but the basics are quite good with seats that are all-day comfortable and upholstery that''s durable enough to stand up to regular use. A tilt column, A/C, and power windows bring this ''31 into the modern era and make it a lot more comfortable to drive regularly. Overhead there''s a custom console with a built-in AM/FM/CD stereo that sounds good in the well-insulated interior and digital gauges arrayed across the center of the dash gives it a very slick, high-tech look that''s really quite clean in the Vicky''s interior. You''ll note that the doors have been extensively modified to eliminate the window frames, a very cool trick that''s only apparent when you open the doors. A reliable Chevy 305 cubic inch V8 brings fuel injection and modern reliability to the party, and with a fat torque curve, this Vicky is plenty entertaining on the street. With its distinctive long-tube intake runners and valve covers painted to match the bodywork, the engine looks right sitting in the old Ford''s engine bay. A few chrome and polished aluminum pieces add some bright contrast and a considerable amount of effort went into hiding the plumbing and wiring. A smoothed firewall certainly helps keep things tidy, and it keeps its cool with a big radiator up front. Front suspension is a traditional I-beam setup with radius rods while an 8-inch rear end hangs on a 4-link with coil overs. A TH350 3-speed automatic transmission handles the gear changes and there''s a custom-made dual exhaust system with Flowmaster mufflers so it has a genuine hot-rod soundtrack. Shiny Billet Specialties wheels fill the fenders and carry 185/75/14 front and 225/75/15 rear blackwall radials. This is a cool rod that''ll get you on the road in traditional fashion for not a lot of cash. Drive it, update it, or just leave it alone and have fun, this is one of those cars that offers a huge bang for the buck. Call today! This vehicle is located in our Atlanta showroom.
