Who didn''t want one of these trucks, lifted and sitting tall, back when they were new? Well, it''s time to relive the past with this 1976 Chevy K10 4x4 pickup, which has obviously enjoyed a rather significant makeover. With in-your-face looks and go-anywhere capabilities, it''s big red fun on or off the pavement. Red is the quintessential pickup truck color, regardless of age, and this awesome Chevy wears it proudly. It was repainted a few years ago, but judging from the details and the hard-to-reach areas of the body, bright red was this truck''s original color. You can''t argue with how good it looks on the clean, chiseled lines of the K10 and the finish quality is on-par with the build quality of the rest of the truck. It''s shiny, well-applied, and covering some straight sheetmetal, but at the same time, it''s not so flawless that you''re afraid to use this truck to its full potential. There''s lots of shiny trim to accentuate that red paint, including the factory stainless moldings on the sides of the body and chrome bed rails that are probably a good idea on a truck this tall. And speaking of the bed, it''s been fortified with both a spray-in bedliner and a rubber mat, just in case you''re hauling, say, your collection of bowling balls or a grizzly bear. Custom taillights give it a more updated look, too. The dark red interior is largely stock and for 1976, you''ll be impressed by the luxury accommodations. The wide bench seat wears a more recent cover that''s in great shape, but I have to believe that things like the door panels and dash pad are original, maybe even the carpets, too. This truck offers a lot of power accessories, including factory A/C, power windows and locks, and a tilt steering column, so it''s hardly vintage-feeling from behind the wheel. A newer AM/FM/CD stereo lives in the dash, but that and the black dash cover are the only notable modifications to the interior. A sliding rear window works in concert with the vent windows to make the interior pleasant on those days when you don''t quite need the A/C, and rubber floor mats will help keep the carpets clean when you''re out playing in the mud. The condition of the sparkling engine bay suggests that while this truck looks off-road ready, it hasn''t spent much time there. The 350 cubic inch V8 sports a bunch of chrome, as well as improvements like an Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor and matching intake manifold, Mallory ignition system, and a growling dual exhaust system. Backed by a sturdy TH350 3-speed automatic transmission and 2-speed transfer case, the driveline is tough enough to handle just about anything. While you''re under there, check out the Skyjacker lift kit with dual shocks at each corner, twin steering stabilizers, and heavy-duty axles that show signs of recent work. Of course, a truck like this wouldn''t be possible without power steering and brakes, so despite its size it''s relatively easy to maneuver in traffic. Great-looking Weld wheels suite the truck''s personality and carry mammoth 37x12.50-15 Super Swampers that look like they''ll climb a wall. A very cool truck with big modifications and a classic look. Admit it, you thought this was cool when you were a kid, and who''s to say anything has changed. You want it, all you have to do is call!
