The choice of celebrities and VIPs when new, this rare 1958 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz convertible is one of 851 produced and the 25th example built. The engine number, frame, and title all match as it came from the factory. It is licensed in Saudi Arabia, where it has been for many years under the ownership of a member of the royalty who paid special attention to its high-dollar, no-expense-spared professional restoration. There is no documentation of the owner since this country is a tightly closed society. A limited-edition car with all-new gold grille and wheels, the Eldorado is finished in Red Metallic (originally white) with a new white vinyl top and red and white genuine leather interior. Medical-grade foam seat cushions provide excellent comfort and a clear plastic cover protects the new genuine leather upholstery. The original 325 horsepower dual-carburetor 365 V-8 is completely and professionally rebuilt and has 120 miles of use since completion. The consignor advises the vehicle runs and drives virtually perfectly and it has been tested and proven on more than one occasion, cruising fast on the road with no over heating with the AC running despite ambient temperatures exceeding 45 Celsius/128 Fahrenheit. The Hydra-Matic automatic transmission was completely rebuilt and shifts properly, with the car providing great cruising performance much as a new car. The cold factory air conditioning was professionally done and the Eldorado is equipped with new electrical wiring. As expected, the vehicle features full power equipment covering the top, seat, steering, trunk, windows, vent windows, and windshield wipers, with all working. The new original-specification red carpeting was imported from the USA, the original radio works as new, according to the European and Middle Eastern wavelengths, and while the clock used to work fine, it has not done so recently. The car was completely undercoated before the professional German paint job was completed in an oven-backed paint booth. The car has new heat insulation under the dashand floors. All-new shock-absorbing materials, cushions, and rubber pads between the frame and the underbody of the car prevent rattles and unwanted noise while driving, making the car very smooth while driving. The brand new aluminized exhaust system and fuel tank are as factory-original. The car is as attractive underneath is it is on top. The car has been always solid and benefited from a dry climate. There is a new CD/Cassette stereo unit in the glove box. All rubber for the top, doors, and trunk is new. All chrome and stainless has been professionally plated and has a great blue sheen to it. All chrome inside and outside was professionally restored, with over $30,000 reported to have been invested into the chrome and Gold plating alone. The original fiberglass convertible top boot remains excellent. Interestingly, the heating system was deleted. The Gold Saber-Spoke wheels were professionally restored and shine better than new.
