This might just be the most radical 1963 Ford Falcon on the planet. Not only is it brilliant to look at, but it''s stuff full of performance enhancements that rocket it past any comparable Mustang and make it a legitimate pro-touring piece that delivers every bit of fun that its bright red exterior would suggest. There''s simply not a single component on this car that isn''t beautifully finished and honed for top performance. This gorgeous Falcon convertible is RED in the biggest, loudest way possible. No subtlety, no attempting to re-create a factory look, but an in-your-face dare to give it a go at the next stop light. And with that kind of attitude, it''s important to get the little stuff right, so it has super straight bodywork, great gaps, and a finish quality usually reserved for cars with an extra zero attached to their price tags. Built in 2009, it''s only been driven 1447 miles so it looks incredible from any angle, and the shine is only part of the story. It''s two-stage urethane, so it''ll look this awesome for years and you should probably hand out sunglasses at car shows for guys who want to see it up close, because the beautifully sanded and buffed finish is blinding. All the factory chrome and stainless remains on the car and completely intact, including the cool hood scoop and side trim, and it has all be professionally restored to show standards. The interior got the full treatment as well, keeping a lot of the Falcon''s original charm but turning up the style to 11. Tan leather was wrapped around the original bucket seats and custom door panels were created to match both the upholstery and the shape of the factory moldings. A custom center console was fabbed up and painted to match the bodywork, as was the original dash, and all the modern conveniences were seamlessly blended into the mix. Note the power windows in the doors, subtle Vintage Air A/C vents in and under the dash, and beautiful Auto Meter gauges with a tach mounted down low for a very trick look. A billet wheel was wrapped in matching tan leather and for entertainment, there''s a professional-grade AM/FM/CD stereo with speakers stashed throughout the interior. A power convertible top was custom-made to match the tan upholstery and fits superbly without any wrinkles. The engine is a stout 351 cubic inch V8, which fits in the Falcon''s engine bay quite easily thanks to a very trick A-arm suspension and coil-over shocks that eliminate the factory shock towers. The cackling small block inhales through a big 4-barrel carb and there''s enough polished aluminum and chrome under the hood to make it worthwhile to open it up every time you stop. A serpentine belt drive from Billet Specialties, chrome valve covers, and a big aluminum radiator all help make the engine bay beautiful as well as functional. Backed by an AOD 4-speed automatic overdrive transmission and a 9-inch with 3.70 gears inside, it''s astoundingly fast off the line, yet cruises easily at highway speeds without getting tiresome. Power front disc brakes, a snarling dual exhaust system, and exactly the right stance also help make this Falcon much more than a hopped-up economy car. Add in a set of pretty Billet Specialties wheels and staggered 195/50/15 front and 205/50/16 rear tires and it backs up the look with plenty of performance. This is a really impressive car, and perhaps the most impressive thing about it is the price, which is a fraction of the build cost.
