Looking through our archives, we''ve sold quite a few 1967 Chevy C10 pickups, but none like this. With a very stock look, this bright red long bed is a great example of reliving days when trucks were tools, not fashion statements. But the original owner was smart enough to know he wanted to be comfortable, so it does carry factory A/C and a great-running 307 cubic inch V8, so there''s no penalty for driving an old-school pickup like this every day. If you''re going to go with an old truck, this really is the way to do it, and while the bright red paint is a few years old, nobody will argue that it isn''t bright and vivid. The great lines of the all-new 1967 Chevy trucks ushered in a generation of clean, conservative styling that has aged extremely well, and with a minimum of fussy design elements, it has a timeless quality. The long bed makes this one more practical than most and to my eye, at least, the proportions are better here. The terrific shine comes courtesy of regular washing and waxing and the white top is a nice touch. This Custom model received a strip of bright stainless trim that stretches from stem to stern, wrapping around the wheel arches, and still in excellent condition. Shiny chrome bumpers, stainless grille inserts, and CHEVROLET block letters on the hood and tailgate all give this truck a very stylish look, even today. The bed shows some age and signs of having worked for a living, but that also means you don''t have to worry about using it now and then for its intended purpose. The Chevy''s simple, rugged interior remains a nice place to hang out today, reminding us that there was a time when trucks were simple machines that were designed to work hard. A woven seat cover is a period accessory that works well here, and we''re assuming that the original upholstery is underneath. Heavy-duty floor coverings with red mats mean that you don''t have to worry about wiping your feet and one of this truck''s new innovations was a more comfortable full-sized door panel that makes the interior feel a little more luxurious. Factory instruments cover speed and fuel level and it appears that the dash pad and steering wheel are original and in decent shape, although starting to show their age. An AM/FM/cassette stereo head unit was installed in the center of the dash at some point, right below the vents for the factory A/C, which has been upgraded to R134a refrigerant. The 307 cubic inch V8 is torquey and easy to like, with a rebuilt carburetor and a nice V8 burble from the single exhaust pipe. Wearing what appears to be its original Chevy Orange paint, it a well-maintained, clean look that suggests a life someplace away from ice and salt. Recent maintenance items ensure that it runs properly and even though it''s a small block Chevy, it has remained pretty stock for all these years. Backed by an automatic transmission and a heavy-duty rear axle, it''s still capable of moving big, heavy stuff, yet with the coil-sprung rear suspension, it''s also quite comfortable motoring around town. The underside isn''t detailed, but it does show solid originality that needs no excuses. Matching steel wheels with dog-dish hubcaps and 235/75/15 whitewall radials give it the perfect working-class look. Just a neat old truck, documented with original owner''s manual and Protect-O-Plate, this life-long Texas pickup is undoubtedly one of those vehicles that just won''t last very long. Call today!
