This 1967 Pontiac Lemans is proof that you can still get a lot of car for not a lot of cash. And this isn''t some beater or washed-up GTO clone, but rather an incredibly nasty street machine that can more than hold its own against far more expensive hardware. 455 cubes, a brilliant paint job, and Pontiac''s best interior all combine to make this a screaming bargain for the guy who likes horsepower above all else. It''s not an original color, but the bright metallic burnt orange certainly gets attention. One glance under the hood and you''ll realize that a lot of money was spent within the confinements of the 2 front fenders. It has an awesome look and the 1967 Pontiac sheetmetal is one of the most attractive shapes of the decade, sporty but grown up. The not-too-subtle paint is modern urethane, so it has a bright gloss and does look great in the sun, with a gold base that seems to shine from within. It''s pretty darned straight, too, with those massive quarter panels looking quite good and decent panel alignment that says this car has lived a good life. And it''s always refreshing to see an A-body that hasn''t been adorned with GTO badges. Instead, the bumpers were polished up, the Pontiac badges were reinstalled, and just about everything else was shaved to give it a very clean look. Pontiac''s interiors were some of the best around in 1967, so this one didn''t need much help. The bucket seats, door panels, and carpets were probably replaced a few years ago, yet still look good and don''t need any extra attention today. The woodgrained dash matches the slightly fatter aftermarket steering wheel, and a trio of aftermarket gauges underneath work with a Sun tach to watch the engine''s vitals. An aftermarket center console almost looks like it was born there, and comes complete with a trick shifter for the TH400 3-speed automatic. The factory radio is gone, replaced by an AM/FM/cassette head unit that slots neatly into the factory spot and uses old-style knobs to make for a fairly convincing look. The trunk is protected by a carpeted mat and carries a full-sized spare Rally II wheel that will bolt right on this Lemans in a pinch. All the nit-picking ends when you pop the hood, where you''ll find a 455 cubic inch V8 that was built to inhale nitrous. It fits easily in the Lemans engine bay and looks great with some chrome dress-up and a brightly painted block. New wiring, helps in the reliability department and there''s a Holley double-pumper up top to manage the intake. Long-tube headers and Flowmaster mufflers provide a vicious soundtrack and there are power brakes for the big end of the track. A big aluminum radiator is cooled by a powerful electric fan, and as I said, it''s set up for nitrous, although no bottle is included for obvious reasons. Handsome Pontiac Rally wheels keep the OEM look and wear fat 235/60/15 Firestone radials that''ll do their best to hook up all that torque. This good-looking Lemans is a ton of horsepower for not a lot of cash. Make your dream of owning a classic 1967 Pontiac Lemans come true. Call today!
