What''s the best all-around hobby car? How about a shoebox tri-five Chevy? Cars like this 1955 Chevy 210 Post 2-door have a lot going for them: V8 power, awesome good looks, they''re comfortable and spacious, and parts are easy to find and affordable. All that certainly explains why they continue to be best-sellers year after year. Dressed in classic and forever-elegant black, this 210 has the right look. You know, the cars you admire at shows and cruising down the road, the driver grinning like he''s King of the road, the kind of car you''ve been wanting to own for years now. It''s not modified, chopped, or shaved, mostly because the original design is so beautiful, even 60 years later. This 210 has been meticulously and professionally refinished, and being a black car, you know there was a lot of time involved with the job. They probably block sanded the body until they found perfection, then sprayed a few coats of deep, lustrous Onyx Black paint, which is this car''s original color, by the way. Finish quality is very impressive, and you can see just how well-done this car is by sighting down the flanks where you''ll see clear reflections, very nice! Then there''s the sizeable investment in chrome plating, including the California 1-piece bumpers, and all the stainless side trim was polished and carefully reinstalled to make sure everything lined up just so. This car is going to get a lot of attention at the next cruise night. The trim tag says this car originally had a code 503 blue interior, so when it was time to restore everything, they stepped up and gave it a full makeover with a tip of the hat to the original colors. The two-tone black and blue seats are original with modern seat covers whose wide pleats look right for 1955. Handsome door panels are flashy, yet work quite well with the subdued interior and don''t seem to be trying too hard. The original dash and instrument panel can hardly look better than they do here, with contrasting blue paint and lots more shiny stuff. Modern upgrades include a tilt column with a leather-wrapped steering wheel and a set of aftermarket instruments under the dash, as well as an AM/FM/8-track stereo. In back, the trunk is simply restored to stock specs, including a vintage bias-ply tire that actually looks right in the upright tire well. The truly great thing about the ''55-57 Chevys is the vast availability of horsepower thanks to the small block Chevy. This one is a 350 cubic inch piece, dressed in familiar Chevy Orange with simple stamped valve covers and a black air cleaner to give it at least a passing resemblance to the original. An Edelbrock intake manifold and Holley carb provide the air and fuel in a combination that was perfected decades ago, making this a strong, reliable runner. Power steering and disc brakes were added to make it more user-friendly in traffic, and thanks to a TH350 3-speed automatic transmission and tall gears, it''s a superlative highway cruiser. The rumble of a Flowmaster exhaust system reminds you this isn''t a stock car, and the use of Rally wheels and 215/75/15 blackwall radials keep it all GM for a polished look. These cars always sell fast, so if you''re in the market, don''t hesitate on this black one. Treat yourself to the car you''ve been wanting for years. Call today!
