Description:

If you want to get into a vintage Mustang for not a lot of cash, a coupe is just what you''re looking for. This 1969 hardtop offers arguably the most popular year''s styling, a rumbling V8 stroker motor, and quality workmanship that means it''s ready to cruise today. For many fans, Mustang styling hit its zenith in 1969, and this handsome coupe has all the great looks of its high-dollar brothers. Check out the aggressive blacked-out grille with inset headlights, the satin black hood, and the classic triple-element taillights out back. Paint and bodywork are nicely done, with a good gloss on the bright red finish and plenty of care exercised to be sure that everything fits together just right. It''s no trailer queen, which isn''t what you''re looking for anyway, but it looks good enough to be the object of envy at every red light. The black bumpers and tail panel are a nice touch, giving it a bit of a pared-down street fighter look. In fact, much of the brightwork has been given the blackout treatment, and it actually works really well on the coupe, adding some aggression that seems to come as standard equipment on the sportsroofs. This car definitely gets attention. From inside, you can''t tell which body style is behind you, thanks to the stylish buckets and racy Mustang dash that were standard equipment across the line. The seats have been reupholstered using authentic materials and patterns, and along with new carpets give the interior a factory-fresh look. The door panels may very well be original and very well preserved, along with the dash pad which remains in excellent shape. The factory gauges wear new white faces that give it an updated look that suits the car just fine, and a small column-mounted tachometer looks appropriate. A center console houses a Hurst shifter for the T5 5-speed manual transmission, a wonderful upgrade that makes this coupe a great point-and-shoot machine around town and a superb highway cruiser. The coupe also offers an AM/FM/iPod stereo for road trips and a decent-sized trunk with plenty of room for storage. Someone clearly invested a lot of time in the engine bay, where there''s a built 302 that''s been punched out to 331 cubic inches. The internals include a cast crank, forged rods and a set of Keith Black pistons, all held together with ARP hardware. Edelbrock aluminum heads shave precious pounds and there''s a fresh 4-barrel up top, along with a chrome air cleaner. Ford Blue paint looks vivid against the satin black inner fenders and the wiring and plumbing is orderly, compliments of the aircraft mechanic who built it. The aforementioned T5 5-speed manual transmission is a wonderful addition that takes advantage of the stroker''s penchant for revs, and the sucker really is quick. Long-tube headers and an exhaust system with X-pipe and Magnaflow mufflers give it a wondrous exhaust note. Those cool wheels are from a late-model Mach 1 and do a pretty good impersonation of vintage Magnum 500 wheels, but offer fat 245/45/17 front and 275/40/17 rear Firestone radials. Lots of fun with bulletproof hardware, this slick 1969 coupe represents great Mustang muscle without the massive price tag. Call today! This vehicle is located in our Dallas/Fort Worth showroom.
