Description:

Classic 1971 442 w30 for sale in our Louisville showroom. There were only about 200 Oldsmobile 442 w30''s with the 4 speed manual transmission. Of those it''s estimated that only 40 still exist, and Gateway Classic Cars has one! The Oldsmobile 442 (pronounced four-four-two) was a muscle car produced by the Oldsmobile division of General Motors. It was introduced as an option package for F-85 and Cutlass models sold in the United States beginning with the 1964 model year. The 442 appellation comes from the configuration of the car: a four-barrel carburetor, a four-speed manual transmission, and dual exhaust pipes. It became a model in its own right from 1968 to 1971, then reverted to an option through the mid-1970s.Here is what the original sales brochure had to say about the w30."4-4-2 W-30: The original Olds cold-air machine. Now featuring the big 455 cubic inch V-8 with 370-air-inducted horsepower. Nobody offers more in cubes! Or looks! W-30 Package includes: Special 455 cube cold-air V-8 with "select fit" pats. Lightweight fiberglass hood with functional scoops, big hood stripes, chromed hood tie downs, and low restriction air cleaner (W-25). Performance calibrated 4-bbl carb. High-overlap cam. Manual disc brakes, front, drums, rear. Power-saving clutch fan. Lightweight aluminum intake manifold. Reduced body sound deadener. Two sports-styled mirrors (D35). G70 bias-ply , glass belted raised white letter tires (PK5). Special paint stripes along body sides. Die cast W-30 identification on front fenders."This 1971 442 w30 is in fantastic condition and mostly numbers matching. The frame off restoration was completed 9 years ago, and looks as good as it did in 1971. From the beautiful black and gold exterior, to the super clean white vinyl interior, there simply isn''t a better 442 w30 available. If you would like to purchase this beautiful classic, or if you have further questions please call our Louisville showroom directly @ 812-294-1555
