Description:

1970 Mercury Cougar for sale in our Chicago Showroom. This Cougar is an H code car with the 351 2brl 250 Hp engine, which has been rebuilt 24,000 miles ago. The engine was bored 40 over, new cam, Edelbrock 650 carburetor, Edelbrock 2V to 4V flange intake manifold, Headman Headers, HEI Ignition, K&N Air Filter, additional electric fan for cooling, aftermarket temperature and oil pressure gauges, plus tachometer were added. The exhaust is 2.5 inch with Turbo mufflers. The transmission in this Cougar was rebuilt about 24,000 miles ago also and a shift kit was installed. This 70 Cougar has a completely rebuilt front suspension, rebuilt with Moog parts along with new shock, springs, control arms. The rear suspension also has Moog parts, with new leaf springs and a rebuilt Ford Nine Inch rear end with posi-traction and 3.00 gears. this Mercury comes with a full set of factory manuals. The interior of this Cougar will need some work, like seat covers and a headliner, but it is a bucket seat car with console and floor shifter, with power steering and power brakes, A/C (missing compressor), factory clock, temperature gauge, and full seatbelt set. The Sequential turn signals also work. The 1970, the Cougar appearance was similar to the 1969 model, however there were numerous changes inside and out. It now sported a new front end which featured a pronounced center hood extension and electric shaver grille similar to the 1967 and 1968 Cougars. Federally mandated locking steering columns appeared inside, and the aforementioned new nose and taillight bezels updated the look on the outside. Total production in 1970 for Cougars was 72,343. This is a solid cruiser that runs great! Located in our Chicago Showroom, which can be reached at 708 444 4488.
