This slick 1968 Chevrolet C10 pickup offers chiseled good looks enhanced by a sizzling orange paint job. A lot of work was recently completed underneath, so it presents extremely well with straight bodywork, a handsome and functional interior, plus a smooth-running small block V8. If you''re looking for a way to combine work and fun, this is the answer. The first thing you notice about this truck is the eyeball-popping paint. Even if you''re not a fan of over-the-top colors, you definitely have to admit that the bright orange on this truck''s flanks looks downright fantastic. There''s a lot of pearl in the finish, so it has a chameleon-like effect depending on the light and you can see it best in our photos when looking at the beltline that runs the length of the entire truck. The simplicity of these trucks is also their best styling feature, with no gimmicks or add-ons, but rather a chiseled, masculine shape that is undeniably American. The bed has been treated to a drop-in bedliner, which is both durable and practical, plus a handsome tan tonneau cover that offers a softer contrast than basic black. The styling on these trucks is a slam-dunk, so there was no need to shave or chop anything, so all the trim was left in place, including the bumpers, lots of stainless, and big, bold CHEVROLET letters on the hood. Tan vinyl is the covering of choice inside, where the original bench seat has been freshly reupholstered and remains firm and comfortable. The dash has been painted to match the body, and new pleated door panels and tan carpets tie it all together very nicely. The C10 offered a fairly comprehensive array of gauges, all of which are fully functional, plus a set of auxiliary instruments under the dash. As with many of our trucks that were born and raised down south, it carries factory air that''s been extensively upgraded with a new compressor and R134a refrigerant, and the system is able to chill the cab until it feels like a meat locker. The Grant GT 4-spoke steering wheel is wrapped with black leather, and an AM/FM/CD radio has been installed front and center in the dash. Oh, and all the glass and weather-stripping is new, too, so it seals up like a factory fresh truck. The incredibly sanitary engine bay looks virtually untouched since the restoration was completed about 2000 miles ago. Satin black is the dominant theme, keeping the OEM look and feel throughout, although no factory truck ever looked this good under the hood. There''s a ton of new components, ranging from the 350 CI, to the alternator to the A/C compressor, and the entire braking system was rebuilt, including rotors and a fresh master cylinder. A TH350 3-speed automatic feeds a pair of 3.63 gears in the 12-bolt out back, and that ideal stance is compliments of a 2/4 drop. A cleverly designed dual exhaust system offers incredible ground clearance and sounds awesome without being annoying on the highway. And few wheels look better on a C10 than chrome Torque Thrusts, which wear studly blackwall radials that totally stuff the wheel wells. This truck represents a very mild custom makeover of a straight truck. It looks awesome, drives great, and can still work on weekends, making it the ideal hobby vehicle. Call today!
