Description:

This 1972 Chevrolet Nova has so much new work that buying it from us is like buying the car and getting the restoration for free. New paint, new interior, a detailed small block V8, and plenty of performance make this car a screaming bargain that simply won''t last long on the showroom floor. We get lots of affordable cars here at Streetside Classics, but rarely are they so lopsided in the buyer''s favor - this is a really nice car. <br The gunmetal gray paint was taken from a late-model GM color chart and gives the vintage Nova a purposeful, sinister look. But before that paint went on, the guys in the body shop spent some time getting the sheetmetal in shape, including replacing the right quarter panel, then blocked it all until everything was right. There''s also a steel cowl-induction hood that looks better on the Nova than almost any other Chevy product of the time, and almost all the emblems and badges were shaved save for the "Nova" script on the trunk lid. A pair of black SS-style stripes were stretched across the top surfaces of the car and then it was all covered in clear urethane that''s a quick cut and buff away from being trophy bait at the big shows. The stainless is in excellent shape and both the front and rear bumpers are shiny chrome that sparkles like it is fresh from the dunk tanks at the plating shop. This one really is as nice as it looks. <br Inside, virtually everything but the dash is new. Nice to see original bench seats still in place, and now they''re covered with reproduction seat covers that look remarkably upscale for the affordable Nova. New black carpets duplicate the factory weave and texture and a taut headliner reinforces the fresh look. The fat wrapper around the factory steering wheel actually works, giving you a thick padded rim that feels modern, not cheesy, and the original speedo and fuel gauge still show bright markings. The usual trio of aftermarket dials hangs underneath, monitoring oil pressure, temperature, and voltage and there''s an ancient AM/FM/cassette stereo he
