Vehicle to be offered for Auction sale January 15th – 19th, 2014 at Russo and Steele''s 14th Annual Scottsdale Arizona Auction. Please contact us for more information. This Factory Five GTM is a true labor of love that began in 2008 when the consignor met and befriended a fellow enthusiast with a burning lifelong dream to build a Factory Five GTM, a true dual-purpose racecar that he could also drive around town. About a year later, the GTM’s owner disclosed that he had been diagnosed with cancer. Concerned that he might eventually leave his wife a garage full of parts, the owner embarked on an all-out effort to complete his dream car. A deal was struck whereby the consignor agreed to purchase the car for a monthly payment and the owner continued to work on it every day until he was unable to continue. The task of building the car was even more daunting, given the owner’s insistence on all-new parts with no donor car, which is usually the case for such a project. Beginning with a GM LS7 crate engine, the car is essentially brand-new. Impeccably built, it includes heat wrapping on every wire and complete insulation from heat and noise. About eight months after the GTM’s build commenced, the consignor received a call advising his friend could no longer continue with the project and that his overriding wish was to see it finished before he passed away. The consignor moved the car to Phoenix and worked with Hoot’s Rod and Custom to finish the car. While they worked as quickly as possible, the team was unfortunately not able to complete the GTM in time. Recently completed following a painstaking build process requiring over five years, this awesome Factory Five Racing GTM nonetheless represents the fulfillment of the late first owner’s drive and vision. Based on a race-bred tubular aluminum and steel chassis frame mounting a carbon-fiber composite bodyshell featuring a custom grille plus side, hood, and hatch louvers, this GTM is impressive throughout. An unholy performer capable of 11-second quarter-mile times and three-second blasts from rest to 60 mph, the GTM features mid-mounted Corvette LS7 V-8 power linked to a six-speed Porsche 911 Turbo rear transaxle. Custom aluminum and stainless-steel fuel tanks are other excellent features. Competition dynamometer tuning was recently performed on the car during mid-September 2013. The cockpit features a custom leather interior and headliner, Nordskog digital dash and comprehensive amenities including air conditioning, Audiovox/Jensen audio system with XM satellite radio, power windows, and rear back-up camera. Electric door actuators and a hydraulic hood opener provide ease of access. Rolling on a set of original hand-built GT40-style Boyd Coddington wheels, this Factory Five GTM is emissions-tested, road-registered, titled, and ready for its next owner to appreciate and experience. Capable of immense performance with surprising drivability and abundant creature comforts, it is a dream come true on all possible levels. Titled as a 2008 FFR.Not a manufacture issued Vehicle Identification Number (VIN). Car is sold with a AZ Title - VIN (AZ340849)
