Description:

1967 Pontiac GTO   History   The Pontiac GTO is an American automobile built by Pontiac Division of General Motors from 1964 to 1974. It was a muscle car classic of the 1960s and 1970s.   In early 1963, General Motors'' management issued a ban on involvement in auto racing. At the time, Pontiac''s advertising and marketing approach was heavily based on performance, and racing was an important component of that strategy. With GM''s ban on factory-sponsored racing, Pontiac''s young and visionary management turned its attention to emphasizing street performance. The GTO was basically a violation of GM policy, but since the GTO was an option package and not standard equipment, it fell into a loophole in the policy.   The GTO underwent a few styling changes in 1967. The louver-covered tail lights were replaced with eight tail lights, four on each side. The GTO emblems located on the rear part of the fenders were moved to the chrome rocker panels. Also the grill was changed from a purely split grill, to one that shared some chrome.     VIN  242177G113588 This is a true GTO!  The previous owner of this gorgeous “Goat” was from Macomb, Michigan, and owned the car since 1991. He had it professionally restored in 2000. It has just 75,xxx original miles and only 500 miles have been put on the car since its restoration. It has always been garage kept and covered when not in use. Full PHS Documents are included in the sale. VIN and Fender Tag decoding information is located at the bottom of the ad.     Mechanics 1970 Pontiac 400ci Engine Turbo 400 Transmission 10 Bolt Posi-Traction Rear End with 3:25 Gear Ratio Pontiac 6X Heads Edelbrock Intake   Holley Carb, Dual Feed Power Drum Brakes Power Steering New Headers New Exhaust System Vortex Mufflers by Cherry Bomb Hotchkis Rear Suspension   Brake Lines have been Replaced   Chrome Air Cleaner   Moroso Valve Covers   Radiator is in Great Shape   Trans Cooler Mounted to Radiator   HEI Distributor   MSD Plug Wires   New Battery   Beautiful Hoses and Belts   Drive Shaft is Nicely Painted   U-Joints have been Replaced   Bushings are in Great Shape Brand New Gas Tank Brand New Tank Straps     Body Original Color “Regimental Red” Black Vinyl Top Gorgeous Chrome Bumpers Doors Fit and Operate Properly Door Lips and Jambs are Clean and Solid Great Looking Emblems and Trim Splatter Painted Trunk All Original Metal in Quarters Frame is Solid and Clean Floorboards Look to be Original Undercarriage is Cleaned and Painted Rockers are Solid and Clean Rallye Wheels with Beautiful Trim Rings BF Goodrich Radial T/A’s - 235/60/15 Front and Rear   Interior Interior was Done in 2000 Bucket Seats are in Excellent Condition His & Hers Shifter Wood Grain Dash and Center Console Great Looking Steering Wheel Aftermarket Cassette Stereo Original Radio is Included in the Sale New Carpet New Headliner with Working Dome Light Great looking Door Panels Handles and Cranks are in Great Shape   Seat Belts Front and Back     The VIN Decodes as Follows:     2 - Pontiac 42 - GTO 17 - 2 Door Hardtop 7 - 1967 G - Assembled in Framingham, MA 113588 - Production Number   Body Plate Decodes as Follows: 01B - Build Date, Second Week of January 67 - 1967 242 - GTO 17 - 2 Door Hardtop Fra - Framingham, MA 223-B - Black Trim R-2 - Regimental Red (paint code)     Don’t Miss Out! Call Tom 7 Days a Week, Including Holidays! 248-974-9513   tom@vanguardmotorsales.com     Vanguard Motor Sales started 25 years ago as a part time hobby. Within the last 8 years we have become the premier seller of classic and muscle cars, both locally and internationally. Vanguard Motor Sales is an experienced seller with integrity, and our 100% positive feedback on eBay supports that! Click the “eBay Feedback” button on the home page of our website, or the number next to our name on eBay (vanguardmotorsales), and you will be able to read all of the positive feedback we’ve received over the last 8 years! Our inventory is always stored indoors! We have a brand new, state-of-the-art, 30,000 square foot facility that is open to the public. We would love for you to stop by and see us! We are located 20 minutes away from Detroit Metro Airport, and would be happy to pick you up and drop you off if you fly in. New cars arrive daily, and our inventory is always changing. Vanguard Motor Sales owns all of our inventory, we are not a consignment dealership. You are dealing directly with the owner of the vehicle, not a middle man. All of our vehicle titles are free of liens, and we are not selling other peoples problems. Every car we purchase is of the utmost quality. Our mission is to exceed your expectations! If you are interested in this car, or any of our other 100+ cars, don’t wait for the auction to end on eBay. You may loose out if you wait! Our shop is open to the public, and when a walk in customer puts a deposit on a car we reserve the right to close the eBay listing before the auction ends. If you think this car is “The One”, we can end the auction by adding a “But It Now” to the auction for the reserve price. If an auction ends and the bids do not meet the reserve price, we will continue to relist it until it sells. Do not hesitate to contact Tom 7 days a week! We take over 100 photographs of the car, as well as a high definition video, so you know exactly what to expect. We encourage you to hire an independent inspector to check out the car, prior to purchase or bidding. We have a hoist available for views of the undercarriage, and our mechanics are available to speak with if you have any questions. Vanguard Motor Sales has sold classic and muscle cars to customers in The United States, Canada, Australia, The United Kingdom, Germany, Sweden, France, Norway, The Netherlands and many other countries. We are experts in over seas shipping, and handle all of the details. The shipping companies we work with are insured, so your vehicle will be safe and secure during transport. We ship all of our vehicles enclosed, so they leave our shop clean and they are delivered to your driveway clean. We''ve built our reputation on selling high quality cars honestly and fairly. We have up-front, no haggle pricing! Call Tom today, and let Vanguard Motor Sales park your dream in your driveway! 248-974-9513 We make every effort to represent this vehicle as accurately as possible and to the best of knowledge at the time of listing.
