Purchased new at Quality Chevrolet in Wichita Kansas on April 22 of 1963, this Corvette was special from Day 1. It arrived painted the perfect colour for a new for 63 Split Window, Riverside Red with black interior. Under the engine hood was the desirable 340hp version of the 327 cubic inch engine attached to a wide ratioMuncie4 speed transmission. Per the original warranty book, the car was delivered new to Mr. Wheat, he would ultimately end up selling the car to a local executive who seemed to buy the car simply because he liked the styling and the way it drove. This would turn out to be a crucial point to the cars future as it was never modified or abused. He would drive the car sparingly until October of 1977 when he parked the car in storage where it would remain in the dark for almost 30 years. In 2007, the car would change hands to its third owner who pulled the car out from its slumber of 30 years and back into the light of day.
