Description:

1966 Oldsmobile Cutlass 4-4-2 Convertible. This numbers matching car is equipped with a 400ci V8 power plant, and packs 350 hp with its 4-barrel carburetor, which could easily be bumped to 360 hp with the addition of the W30 tri-power carb setup, which was a factory option. This brawny engine is mated to the factory 4-speed manual transmission, on the center console, and floor-mounted Hurst shifter. The light blue vinyl bucket seats finish off the interior nicely. All of the 4-4-2 badging is present and in excellent condition. This is one rare and exceptionally well done restoration of an even rarer convertible 400ci 4-4-2. Best of all, according to the previous owner the 27,000 showing on the odometer is original miles. 1966 4-4-2 production was a mere 21,997 units - of which only 2,853 were convertibles, of these, only 1,448 were built with factory 4-speed manual transmission. The Oldsmobile 4-4-2 was the king of Oldsmobile muscle cars and challenger to the throne as one of the greatest and best handling muscle cars of all time. There has never been another car like it. The original meaning for the 4-4-2 designation in 1964 was: 4-on-the-floor, four barrel carburetor, dual exhaust. But due to engine and transmission changes in 1965 and later models, the meaning was technically changed to: 400 cubic inch engine, four barrel carburetor, and dual exhaust.
