Description:

Thanks to innovative fans and creative designers, our cars continue to become more sophisticated, more polished and more refined. One of those fans, a Texan by the name of Carroll Shelby, spent most of his life building a well-deserved reputation for serious performance and record setting speed; and even at the fiery age of 89, he was STILL inspiring enthusiasts to push their creations to the point of borderline unbelievable. It seems only fitting that Ford and Shelby Automobiles would eventually renew their decades abandoned push to dominate the performance car world. And this GT500 Super Snake 427 NASCAR Edition, with its supercharged V8, track-tuned suspension and razor-sharp appearance, is a perfect example of why that partnership is a match made in heaven. Want some cool and exclusive muscle that you can actually drive and enjoy? This low-mileage, showroom-fresh drop-top is exactly what you’ve been looking for! With just 2,845 miles on its bright digital odometer, this venomous Snake hasn’t even made it past break-in time. Its factory window sticker, which is included with our sale, lists the following options and standard equipment: STANDARD EQUIPMENT INCLUDED AT NO EXTRA CHARGE * 18 x 9.5 bright machined aluminum wheels * Unique Shelby GT500 badging * Premium cloth convertible top * Unique aluminum hood that’s complete with air extractors * Shelby decklid spoiler * Fog lamps * Rear window defroster * ---------- * Shelby Interior Package * Sport bucket seats which feature embossed Cobra logos * Power 6-way driver’s seat * Shaker 500 audio system which includes AM/FM, 6-disc CD changer and MP3 compatibility * Light-toned cluster gauges which include a boost gauge * Air conditioning * ---------- * SVT tuned suspension * Brembo front brakes which feature 14 inch discs and Brembo branded calipers * 6-speed Tremec manual transmission * Dual tuned stainless steel X-pipe exhaust * High performance tires sized P255/45ZR18 for the front and P285/40ZR18 for the rear * ---------- * Anti-lock brakes and traction control * Second generation dual front airbags for the driver and front passenger seats * Side-mounted airbags for the driver and front passenger seats * Remote keyless entry * Active anti-theft system * Latch child safety system * 24 hour roadside assistance OPTIONAL EQUIPMENT * Front license plate bracket ($00) * Sirius satellite radio ($195) * HID headlamps ($525) * GT500 Premium Trim Package ($595) * White tape stripe ($00) * Shaker 1000 audio system ($1,295) * Gas guzzler tax ($1,300) STANDARD VEHICLE PRICE: $46,755 TOTAL OPTIONS: $3,910 DESTINATION & DELIVERY: $745 TOTAL MANUFACTURER’S SUGGESTED RETAIL PRICE: $51,410 SOLD AT: Crown Ford in Redding, California Wearing a sinister layer of Ford Black paint under NASCAR Edition call-outs, this spotless Mustang has seen meticulous care since new. All of the car’s modifications were performed by Shelby in Sin City, Nevada; an outfit that undoubtedly knows how to churn out killer performance machines. And like most of our low-mileage, factory fresh pieces, its body presents as new in every conceivable way. That body’s shiny, wet-look panels are 100% straight with no history of accidents or damage of any kind. And a close look down the car’s sculpted fuselage reveals world class finishing that, by far, creates one of the nicest late-model Fords we’ve ever seen. At RK Motors Charlotte, we pride ourselves on being your number one source for specialty cars of all ages, and this showroom fresh Snake is only the latest in a long line of exceptionally cool Shelby muscle cars! When up close and personal with Ford’s GT500, it becomes clear the firm’s designers focused on creating a car that looks tailored and substantial in comparison to its “lesser” counterparts. And this killer Mustang, with its high quality body kit, panther-like stance and completely blacked out exterior, is about as “substantial” as it gets! At the front of this mean mare, a familiar Mustang grille hangs an offset cobra emblem between halogen headlights, a carbon fiber splitter and a sculpted front valence that’s complete with traditional fog lamps. At the top of that grille, a Super Snake hood centers a flat Shelby stripe between mandatory stainless pins, chip-free factory glass and a flawless cloth roof. At the base of that glass, a billet antenna and aggressive side scoops frame capped mirrors, NASCAR Edition emblems and carbon fiber rockers. And at the back of those rockers, segmented tail lights, a bold “SHELBY” script and a GT500-exclusive faux fuel filler hang between a large, trunk-mounted spoiler and an aggressive valence that’s pierced by polished exhaust tips. Created as a turnkey package for enthusiasts who want a reliably engineered Mustang that unlocks the full potential of Ford’s legendary ''mod motor'', the Shelby Super Snake utilizes a Shelby/Ford Racing supercharger to crank out an astonishing 605 horsepower. To the left of the car’s compact blower, a cold air induction system combines with a reusable filter element to marry a clean appearance with excellent efficiency. At the sides of that blower, dynamic Shelby coil covers combine with a thick Ford Racing tower brace to dress things up a bit. And in front of the blower, slick Shelby fluid caps combine with optional Shelby coolant tanks to add stellar form to increased function. As with all Shelby specialties, this Mustang proudly displays multiple Shelby American badges that verify its authenticity. Aesthetically, the spotless mill features a typical OEM-level appearance that displays hardly any signs of usage. And when you twist the eager engine’s key, you become the lead composer of a veritable orchestra of sinister whines and octane-fueled roars! As most performance car fans already know, this Mustang’s SVT-tuned suspension is nothing short of excellent. And with a few of Shelby’s aftermarket bolt-ons, it sticks to the corners like the high speed luge winner at the 2010 Winter Olympics. The firm’s upgrades began with a Shelby/Eibach suspension that straightens the curves, progressed to Shelby/Baer brakes that scrub big speed, and ended with 20-inch Shelby/Alcoa wheels that keep power to the ground. Behind the smooth engine, a slick-shifting Tremec TR6060 6-speed sends power to big, 3.73 gears and a Ford limited slip differential. At the corners of the car, the aforementioned Baers, which happen to be red-detailed, 6-piston units, squeeze giant drilled and slotted rotors behind standard Shelby brake ducts. Turns come courtesy of Ford’s super-efficient power-assisted steering. Exhaust flows through large-diameter pipes to bright, “Borla” branded tips. Naturally, Ford’s standard ABS and traction control systems are all present and accounted for. And all this first class speed and agility rides on the aforementioned Shelby/Alcoa kicks, which spin sticky 255/35 front and 275/35 rear Pirelli P Zeros around a highly polished finish. Inside this Ford, bolstered and stitched seats, which feature bright NASCAR Edition logos, ride opposite a two-tone steering wheel that’s adorned with convenient thumb buttons. The dash is a familiar Mustang layout which hangs satin-trimmed instruments and a programmable “SVT” shift light beside a small plaque, integrated Shelby accessory gauges and a bold Carroll Shelby autograph. Below that plaque, a Shaker 1000 stereo combines MP3 compatibility with a 6-disc CD changer to become a one-stop shop for all your audio entertainment needs. Below that stereo, a leather-booted shifter is framed by an impressive console that’s detailed in optional Shelby upgrades. And naturally, all the luxuries you’d expect in a high dollar modern car are ready and waiting including: cruise control, power windows, power door locks, power mirrors, a power driver’s seat and remote keyless entry that’s complete with built in theft deterrent software. It’s always hard to describe a car that is essentially new in every way. So I’ll just sum this Mustang up by saying everything, from its “SHELBY” branded courtesy lamps to its NASCAR Edition floor mats, is in impeccable working order. This exclusive thoroughbred’s sale includes a Certificate of Origin, the Ford window sticker outlined above, a bit of dealer paperwork and an autographed visor badge. Even without its rarity factor, this red hot Shelby will satisfy any performance enthusiast. With plenty of power across the board and nearly universal appeal, it’s hard to think of a more desirable American car; especially in this price range. Add in the Shelby name, limited production and low mileage, and this thoroughbred starts looking like a great investment. Want to own a showroom-fresh copy of one of the baddest Mustangs ever assembled? Don’t miss your chance to claim this awesome 2008 Shelby GT500 Super Snake!
