Clean. Think about it: That''s just about the best complement someone can pay your ride. Sure, you''ll win a few glances with the flavor-of-the-month paint job, or some trick wheels, but most trends fade and you''re left with people snickering at your now dated car. That doesn''t happen when you''ve got a clean car. This Nova is cool inside and out, and it''s a lesson in how to future-proof a classic. If you want your car to stand the test of time, paint it red, black, or silver. The crimson paint here is vivid and it''ll still be in favor a hundred years from now. The bodywork was done a few years ago and it''s held up very well. The trim is another make-or-break part of the visual puzzle. Here, there isn''t too much or too little, and the factory pieces make sure to let you know this isn''t some clone or tribute or whatever. It''s simply proud to be a Chevy II hardtop, and that''s more than enough. The bumpers were done when the car was apart for paint and they shine brilliantly. The stance is just a hair lower than stock, and it not only looks great but rides best set that way. Inside, trick ostrich and snakeskin hides might make you a hero for a day, but we''ll take this reproduction upholstery ten times out of ten. You''re looking at seat covers, door panels and carpeting that have only been in for about seven years, and they look great. Black is always the right color here, and the silver stripes look as good today as they did when they came from Bill Mitchell''s styling department. You''ll steer with a correct thin-rimmed steering wheel instead of some gaudy aftermarket piece, and extra information about the engine comes through courtesy of the discrete gauge panel under the dash. There''s a Classic Autosound AM/FM radio in the original location, and a retro B&M floor shifter between the seats. Under the dash you''ll find the vents and controls for the Vintage Air air conditioning, which is never a bad thing to have on a cruiser. This is a great place to spend a pile of miles, and the drivetrain ensures you can do so in complete confidence. Under the hood isn''t some chromed-out, temperamental bullet from''s a tried-and-true 350 bolted to a 700R4 4-speed automatic. The engine is a 1999 vintage piece, which means it has a pair of excellent Vortec heads as standard equipment. There''s a dual plane intake and 650 CFM Holley up top, ceramic-coated headers on the side, and a big aluminum radiator up front. The battery, wiring, hoses, and fluids are all newer and ready to go. The transmission was rebuilt and is fortified with a 2700 RPM stall converter, and the overdrive transmission certainly makes the miles go by more smoothly. Underneath you''ll find rebuilt brakes fore and aft, dual exhaust with Flowmaster mufflers, subframe connectors, and a 10-bolt stuffed with 3.73 gears and an Eaton Posi. The whole deal rides on classic Chevy rally wheels with 205/70/14 BFGoodrich tires, mounted white letters out, of course. You can look high and low, but clean cars like this Chevy II aren''t easy to come by. Great looking, great running and sure to please crowds for decades, there''s no reason to not give us a call right now! This vehicle is located in our Dallas/Fort Worth showroom.
