Description:

Not all Corvettes are red, and if you need flash in your two-seat fiberglass fantastic, this 1960 Corvette certainly delivers. The car that you''ll look forward to driving, if only to hear those dual quads at full song, it reminds us that all Corvettes are built for the road, I don''t care what the show guys say. OK, so the paint isn''t trailer-queen quality, but what''s the point of a dual-quad ''Vette that sits on a show field being wiped with a diaper? This sucker was born to RUN! The two-tone white and silver paint job is perfect for this car, at once subtle and flashy, and just incredibly clean-looking. The work was done a few years ago and the car has been enjoyed, which is exactly how Corvettes were built to be used, and the workmanship at the time was quite nicely done. Door fit is good, the hood sits flush, and the fiberglass is in overall very good condition so that you''ll be proud to pull up in front of your favorite hangout and casually walk away, letting the crowd swoon over this beautiful roadster. Details like the flush-fitting taillights and emblems are very nice, and the chrome was all refinished with the rest of the car and still shows well. As far as drivable C1s go, this is an excellent candidate. I think my favorite aspect of this ''Vette is the glorious turquoise interior. The contrast with the white paint is brilliant but perfectly in tune with the period, giving this roadster a fun-loving look that''s a far cry from the seriousness that usually surrounds vintage fiberglass. Like your favorite jeans, there''s plenty of character inside but it''s definitely not worn out. The seat show patina that makes folks want to run their hands over the pleats, and from behind the wheel, the view is priceless. The original gauges are framed by that color-matched 3-spoke steering wheel, the dash-mounted rear-view mirror should always have a sunset in it, and the white cue ball for the 4-speed shifter begs to hammer through the gears. The sole modification is an AM/FM/cassette radio in the dash, but that''s easy to overlook in the grand scheme of things. Overhead, there''s a white convertible top for emergencies, as well as a color-matched hardtop for long trips, and they''re both in great shape. The barking 327 cubic inch V8 was borrowed from a slightly later 1961 ''Vette, but dressed like it is, it looks right and sounds fantastic. Dual quads atop an aluminum intake make the most incredible intake wail and throttle response is immediate at any speed. Chrome dress-up pieces make it look showy, and a fresh aluminum radiator up front means that there are no worries about traffic and heat. Bright Chevy Orange paint still looks fresh and the exhaust manifolds have been coated for long-lasting beauty. The dual exhaust sounds right, the 4-speed slips through the gears easily, and while not super-detailed, the undercarriage is ideal for a driver-grade Corvette. Flashy 6.70-15 Firestone wide whites with stock wheel covers gives it that vintage look that seems right on only the solid-axle cars. A beautiful car that''s appealing for a variety of reasons. If driving is your thing, this dual-quad Corvette has the right equipment and just the right level of shine to be a no-brainer when it comes time to hit the road. Call today!
