Description:

Starting with a 1970 Ford Mustang convertible, this resto-mod quickly took shape around some modern parts. Starting with the drivetrain, a modern 351 Windsor engine with electronic fuel injection and Edelbrock intake along with long tube headers going back to Dynomax mufflers for a great sound was installed. It was then connected to a 5 speed overdrive transmission for added versatility to drive at highway speeds. Next was the handling, a power rack and pinion front suspension was added with lowered suspension giving it a much more modern feel along with four wheel Wilwood disc brakes covered by 17 front and 20 rear wheels. Attention was then focused to the overall appearance, starting with a bright shade of yellow, they added a dark grey version of the Mach 1 stripes for 1970 straight up the engine hood and matching rear tail panel. The interior was done in black leather with the center piece being the racing style bucket seats and 4 point safety harnesses with custom center console which blends in well with the factory dash and original black rear seats. The dash is filled with a full set of white faced Auto Meter gauges and the head unit for the updated audio system which includes a full set of speakers and amplified sub woofer mounted in the trunk. Overall the end result was a modified Mustang which is still very much a 1970 Ford Mustang. It retains all that is great about the Mustang including its unmistakable looks while adding all the modern drivetrain, suspension and comfort that people have come to expect from cars today.
