The Range Rover is a large luxury four-wheel drive sport utilityvehicle launched in 1970 and is now in its fourth generation. In 1967, the first Range Rover prototype was built with the classicRange Rover shape clearly discernible although with a differentfront grille and headlight configuration. The design of the RangeRover was eventually finalised and signed off in 1969.After 25 years from the introduction of the first-generationRange Rover, the second-generation Range Rover model designationP38A was introduced for the 1995 model year with an updated versionof the Rover V8 engines. There was also the option of a2.5 litre BMW six-cylinder turbo-diesel engine. This was aresult of BMW''s subsequent ownership of Rover Group and hence theLand Rover brand. The new model offered more equipment and premiumtrims and positioning the vehicle above the Land Rover Discovery toface the increased competition in the SUV marketplace. This modelwas the last to feature the Rover V8 engine and interior leathersupplied by Connolly who sadly went out of business in 2002.This Range Rover presents in good all round condition and isdescribed by the vendor as having no known faults. The bluecoachwork is in good order as is the cream leather interior,aesthetically the appearance is improved by the privacy glass tothe rear windows. Electric seats, together with air conditioning,C.D. player and heated seats all contribute to making this a highlyuseable and comfortable 4x4.
