Description:

Considered by many to be the high water mark of Ford pre-War styling, 1940 Fords of all varieties are instantly recognizable as true icons of American design. With a $947 original retail price, the V8-powered SW ''Woody'' wagons were famously the most expensive model offered for 1940, coach built in Ford''s Iron Mountain plant by skilled craftsmen using Ash, Maple, and Basswood harvested from Ford''s own forests in Northern Michigan. Just 8,730 were built in total. This Ford Super Deluxe SW ''Woody'' wagon is the recipient of a full show-quality restoration completed in the late 1990s and driven sparingly since. In the restoration, it received all new NOS Ford wood panels and refinished in its correct Folkstone Grey with tan all leather interior. Under the hood is the factory correct 221ci Flathead V8 engine, which has been rebuilt and features upgraded vintage Fenton headers, backed by a ''on the tree'' 3-speed manual transmission. This SW was shown in the 2007 San Juan Islands Concours d''Elegance and has been in the same ownership for the past 15 years. Included with purchase are the original exhaust manifolds and heat shields, a file of Woody information, photos of the car at the Concours, and ownership history.* Exterior* Bias Ply Wide White Wall Tires* NOS Ford Wood* Interior* Auxiliary Heater* Tan Leather* Mechanical* 221 Cubic Inch Flathead V8* Fenton Headers* Three-On-The-Tree TransmissionThe price for this vehicle as equipped does not include charges such as: License, Title, Registration Fees, State or Local Taxes, Finance Charges, Credit Investigation, Optional Credit Insurance, Physical Damage of Liability Insurance, Delivery Fees, or a negotiable $150 Documentary Fee.
