Mercedes 190 SL - 1956for saleBrand: MercedesModel: 190 SLYear: 1956Color: dark greyEngine: 4 cylinder in line, 2 literPower: 145 HPGearbox: 4 manualMileage: 77010 milesChassis no.: 1210406502722Price: € 84.000,-The Mercedes - Benz 190 SL roadster was introduced in 1955 as a less expensive and less sophisticated alternative to the 300 SL roadster . The bodywork and interior design , which appealed to many , were greatly inspired by the 300 SL roadster , technically it was a completely different car .The 190 SL was a real tour car and the 300 SL roadster was a real sports car . But the 190 SL was affordable ( for Mercedes - Benz standards) and the car took a great deal of enthusiastic owners primarily in the sunny U.S. states .The sales success of the 190 SL was based on the good looks of the car, but also because of the excellent comfort, excellent and reliable technique .The 190 SL was powered by a four - cylinder engine with a displacement of 1,897 cc and equipped with two Solex carburetors . The standard four -speed gearbox was fully synchronized and had a floor shift .From 1956 the 190 SL was equipped with power brakes. In 1963 the 190 SL was succeeded by the new Mercedes - Benz 230 SL , which was known by the nickname " Pagoda " .This Mercedes 190SL is imported from the U.S. ( Florida ) and in the Netherlands completely restored by a Mercedes specialist. The restoration was finished in 2008 and then they put this SL on Dutch license . The car has since only 8,000 miles driven .During the restoration , there are several improvements commissioned by the last owner to drive the car. There is a strong 2.0 liter engine fitted with 2 weber carburetors , good for 145 hp , the original engine and carburetors are also provided. There are also heavier disc brakes mounted on the front , 14 -inch wheels. The paintwork , chrome and trim are still completely in new condition and the car is always very well maintained . There is provided an information map .This Mercedes is in top condition and drives fantastic!Lex Classics is for more than 16 years active in the international classic car business and we are specialist in trading English sport cars and exclusive classic cars.
