1949 Cadillac ConvertibleAll throughout automobile history the Cadillac has continued to be the sign of luxury. Even today, Cadillac is known for their high quality machines that are fully loaded with anything you could possibly want. This beautifully done 1949 Cadillac Convertible is no different. The car was bought by the current owner and then the customizations began. The only part he didn''t touch was the paint/body. The car is currently coated in a 2005 Chrysler Cool Vanilla that really shines in the sun. This combined with all the chrome these Cadillacs are known for create a look you just can''t beat. The front and rear bumpers look great and are cleanly mounted. All of the original style stainless trim is in place with the finder rock guards. You don''t always see those fender trim pieces on these cars but they really look great when they are there. The car has the correct style ornament and emblems in place which all match that Cadillac look. The glass is all in good condition with the split style front windshield that is nicely framed in stainless trim. Under each corner are very nice 20x8.5" polished Intro wheels with 245/40/20 BF Goodrich KDW tires. They work well on this car and look great with the fender skirts in the rear.Most of the exterior has a stock look except for the wheels however beyond that the car is all custom. Pop the hood and you will see it is a show stopper. It is the type of car you see roped off at the end of the isles at indoor shows where everyone has to stop to check out the motor. A 1978 425 Cadillac motor is in place that was built by Cad''s Inc out of California. Inner fender covers and an engine cover have been custom built and painted to match giving the compartment a look you would expect to see in some futuristic space vehicle. The engine has been bored .40 and is loaded with a ton of high quality components that make it perform just as well as it looks. You won''t have to be reaching through the grill to find the release on this classic because with just a push of a button the hood automatically raises. A similar system is in place with the trunk which is power assisted. Behind the motor is a 400 Turbo automatic transmission that shifts well with no issues. The suspension has all been changed out with a 72 Nova front clip that has been fitted with Fatman 2" drop spindles and late model Camaro rotors/calipers/pads. A 79 Trans Am positrac system is in place in rear and match the front lugs which were turned down and rethreaded to match. Other nice upgrades include the Tanks fuel tank and fuel lines which are also all brand new. From the floating center console and arm rest to the upholstery on the seats this thing is all one of a kind. The two tone Tan and Brown work perfectly together and are used to accent different features throughout. The door panels have a great look and as with the rest of the interior utilizes all polished billet components. The floating center console houses the power window, Vintage AC/Heat controls and power top controls as well as the shifter. The dash has all been redone but still houses the vintage style gauge/bezel set up. A tilt column is nicely mounted in place and is topped with a nicely polished Banjo steering wheel. The new custom Kenwood stereo is in place that utilizes both a remote and 4.3" touch screen. It is satellite and built t for use as a back up cam as well as being Ipod/Phone ready. The power convertible top was just redone in Tan and operates well. The trunk is just as nicely finished out as the rest being done in the same material as the interior.This is one cool classic that always gets attention. People love these cars when they are just stock so you can imagine how they slobber over this beauty.
