An incredibly rare Automatic transmission Alfa 2000 GT Veloce. The automatic variant was only sold in South Africa and utilised a 3 speed ZF BMW gearbox that had its own oil cooler and the radiator was larger than standard on these models. There seems to be an ongiong debate about the number of Automatic variants produced but around 100 in total appears to be the oft quoted number. This particular car was sold during the models final year of production in 1977. The colour is Farina red with a contrasting black Alfatex (sky) interior. What is striking about this car is its originality. Affecionados well know that Alfa''s of this epoch were particularly susceptible to corrosion. Also the interiors and brightwork didn''t hold up well to everyday use. Therefore it is unusal to find such a well preserved example as this. It is nigh on impossible to find a RHD GTV with an original and unworn interior, headlining and brightwork. The body appears never to have been repaired or welded and the door shut lines are pefect. Since being imported into Europe the car has had a very comprehensive mechanical overhaul for which there are copious invoices in the history file. The GTV, penned by the talented designer Giorgetto Giugiaro is a timeless Italian classic and examples of this quality are fast climbing in value. The car is accompanied by its original sales invoice and service book,PriceĀ£22,950
