Any tri-five Chevy is a cool car, but some are simply cooler than others. This one''s in that rarefied category: all black exterior, exquisitely detailed, with a custom interior and a Corvette independent suspension out back. The money was spent on this car, and it was spent well. There''s a massive gulf between wanting a black car, and actually having the effort and time to lay down bodywork straight enough to make it work. It''s always helpful to have a nice base, and this car was found: it was a formerly glammed-up custom show car where you can easily see the many hours that were spent sanding and prepping the panels on a rotisserie, and the results are clear. All new or restored trim went on, and the car''s clean, mid-line 210 model roots were left intact. With black paint, less is frequently more, and the car''s minimalist look is appreciated everywhere. From bumper to bumper you''ll be hard-pressed to find any flaws, just as you''d want. All new tinted glass is in chrome framed openings, subtle tri-bar headlights, and a custom third brake light built into the trunk emblem is out back. The build was completed four years ago, but a scant 322 miles have rolled under the tires, so this car is still fresh. Leather is the word inside, headlining a comfy interior. A high-backed bench seat with flip-down armrest is considerably more comfortable than the upright original, and it''s dressed up with French seams, piping and ruffled leather. Built-from-scratch door panels look great, match front to rear, and neatly integrate the armrest, door release and grab handle. Custom carpeting is color matched, much more luxurious than stock, and has an integrated heel pad that matches the upholstery. Billet dash panels and Classic Instruments gauges are subtle custom touches. Your hands will be busy with the Corvette tilt/telescoping steering column and the crafty Hurst shifter stick activating the TH400 3-speed automatic below. The battery''s in the trunk, and the paint is as nice as the exterior. There''s more shiny stuff in the engine compartment than on the body, which makes the mill a real focal point. It''s a stout, rebuilt 350 cubic inch V8 with a great-sounding cam, headers, and a four barrel carb. Braided hoses run every fluid from the antifreeze to the brakes to the power steering and a plain chrome air cleaner and finned valve covers are devoid of tacky manufacturer''s logos. The chassis was cleaned and painted separately from the body, and the detail level is exceptional. Corvette four-piston disc brakes are up front on rebuilt spindles and control arms and a fat sway bar keeps the ship level, and the engine and big automatic boast chromed pans which match the fully chromed C3 vintage Corvette independent rear suspension, including the transverse leaf springs meticulously retrofitted from the donor car. Once complete, it transforms the handling and ride of this big Chevy, and it feels nothing like what you''d expect in a car from this era. BFGoodrich tires surround timeless 15" rally wheels with spinner hubcaps for a classic hot rod touch. This one has the right parts, the best workmanship, and looks great, and you still couldn''t build it for twice the asking price. Call today and secure this awesome Chevy for your collection!
