Description:

Enough already with the matching numbers nonsense. Sure, if you want to pay a lot extra for a 1969 Mach 1, go ahead and find one where the numbers stamped on the block are just a little different than those on this one. Or you could save, oh, about $20,000 and have this gorgeous and accurate Mach 1 tribute where the only way anyone will know the difference is by breaking out the code books. It''s your money, which do you prefer? Indian Fire is a fantastic color on the ''69 Mustangs, and it''s suddenly back in fashion today. Someone spent a lot of effort making this one look this good, and it shows everywhere you look, from the outstanding shine on the paint to the panels that are straight enough to refract light. All the proper Mach 1 markings are there, plus a Shaker hood and blacked out hood treatment, hood pins, and the all-important rear window slats. Front and rear spoilers make this perhaps the best-looking muscle car of all time, and the dissonance between the sophisticated color and blunt-force trauma that is the Mach 1 package means you''ll never get tired of looking at it. Check out the details on this car, then look again at the price. See what I mean about pedigrees being a waste of money? The black bucket seat interior is as impressive as it is new, with high-back buckets with comfort-weave seat covers and an aftermarket center console between them. Settle in and grab the Hurst 4-speed, which all proper Mach 1s should carry, and the view over the Shaker hood scoop is worth the price of admission all by itself. Just about everything inside is new, and even the woodgrained appliques look bright and crisp, so they''re surely not coming up on 45 years old. Check out the factory A/C, too, which was a relatively rare option on any Mustang in 1969 and always appreciated if you like to drive. A newer AM/FM/cassette stereo was stuffed into the original opening in the dash, but otherwise it looks pretty much how it would have on the showroom floor in 1969. Fold-down rear seats make for a cavernous storage area, which includes a new mat and spare tire cover. The engine is a small block 351 Windsor, which is the right setup if you like to go around corners. There''s plenty of torque and the sparkling engine bay looks fantastic with Ford Blue paint, finned Cobra valve covers, and lots of new parts. Wiring, hoses, belts, and other ancillary components are new, and there''s hardly anything under the hood that hasn''t seen the detailer''s touch. The 4-speed shifts effortlessly and powers a set of 2.78 gears in the 9-inch out back, so it makes a wonderful highway cruiser. Twin Flowmasters deliver that traditional Mustang hi-po sound, and while it''s not detailed, the undercarriage is clean and free of problem areas. New Magnum 500 wheels and 235/60/15 BFG radials make up the rolling stock, so it sits right and looks great. Call today! This vehicle is located in our Dallas/Fort Worth showroom.
