Like you just did, the first time I saw this stunning 1957 Chevy Bel Air convertible, I said, "Oh wow!" Professionally built to the very highest standards, this is what you get when you hand a blank check to some of the most talented guys in the industry, and we can guarantee that you''ll have no regrets when you''re behind the wheel of this incredible ragtop. There''s probably not enough room to adequately cover this car''s many highlights, but I''m going to give it a try anyway. First and foremost, the paint: it''s black, but the kind of black that looks like it might still be wet and makes other black cars around it look dusty and gray. Despite the slammed stance, the bodywork is almost entirely unaltered, sticking to the glorious original recipe and merely finishing it to show standards to make it stand out. Panel fit and finish are off-the-charts nice, and there''s probably $30,000 in chrome work alone. All the badges, emblems, and stainless trim remain in place, although there are a few subtle tricks like the LED taillights and trick "angel eye" headlights up front. Climbing inside, there''s not much 1957 left, as you''re greeted by acres of lovely butter-soft tan leather, wrapped around custom bucket seats and a center console that was specially fabricated just for this car. The diamond-quilted pattern on the seats and sides of the console look like they were borrowed from, say, a vintage Bentley, yet with a decidedly modern touch. The original dash has been cleverly camouflaged with tan paint and stuffed with cream-faced gauges from Classic Instruments, but the style is undeniable. All the usual modern conveniences are here, including A/C, power windows and locks, a tilt column, and a navigation system integrated with the entertainment system with a large screen in the center console. Both front and rear passengers are treated to their own cup holders, and speakers for the stereo are cleverly stashed throughout the interior for a truly immersive experience. A black canvas power top seals it up, and the trunk is fully finished to match the interior complete with subwoofer enclosure and remote-mounted battery. This car was also built to drive, and with that in mind, a 350 cubic inch Chevy crate motor was dropped between the fenders then topped with an MSD Atomic fuel injection system. Although it may look like a vintage 4-barrel carb, it starts instantly and idles perfectly every time, warm or cold, and delivers a smooth flow of power that our carbureted fathers only dreamed of. Of course, the engine is beautifully detailed with lots of polished metal and bright red highlights, and the list of custom equipment is quite lengthy. Wilwood 4-wheel disc brakes, custom front and rear suspensions with coil-over shocks from Ride Tek, and power rack-and-pinion steering ensure that it''s a joy to drive. The transmission is a TH350 3-speed automatic linked to a set of 3.08 gears out back, so it cruises effortlessly at any speed. Stunning billet wheels measure 20 inches up front and a mind-bending 22 inches out back and wear gigantic Pirelli tires.
