This amazing 1956 Chevy Bel Air 2-door is one of those cars that already has all the right ingredients. Fuel injected small block? Yep. Six-speed transmission? Of course. Custom interior with all the toys? What did you expect? And it''s so nice that it''s absolutely mind-boggling to believe that the build is nearly a decade old. Bright red never looks wrong, but on shoebox Chevys, it''s downright spectacular, especially rendered in PPG urethane. It tends to emphasize the chrome and trim, all of which remain intact on this mild custom, and all of it has been restored to show condition. All the body panels are straight, and the reflections in our photo studio are proof enough that someone invested the time and effort to make this one look right. All the things that make these cars great also make them a challenge to restore-if your panels don''t align correctly, you''re going to see it in mismatched trim. It all works together making a car that will get attract attention at first glance, but really needs extended study to see just how beautifully done it really is. Other trick details include the smoothie front bumper and Nomad rear bumper for a subtly different look that is the essence of custom car building. The completely custom interior is a big step up from 1956, and offers all the comforts and conveniences of a modern luxury car. Those highly adjustable power bucket seats were borrowed from a Cadillac, and now feature gorgeous two-tone ultra-leather on the seating surfaces, as well as the highly sculpted door panels. Red carpets match the body-colored dash which retains a factory look, complete with the stock gauges that have been fully restored. The billet shifter falls easily to hand and you''ll be delighted to note that it''s linked to a 6-speed Richmond gearbox, making this Bel Air move like a muscle car. A trick under-dash console houses a set of auxiliary gauges and vents for the A/C, but blends in perfectly. A new tilt column holds a leather-wrapped wheel, and a powerful AM/FM/CD entertainment system fills the car with sound thanks to a trunk-mounted amplifier. This car is so nice, even the trunk is a work of art, with embossed panels and a crossed-flag emblem on the trunk lid. You can''t make a car look this good and not have it perform, so a built 350 cubic inch small block with tuned-port injection went under the hood. Famous for making great torque, the engine is happy trundling through traffic or hammering down the interstate with the A/C cranking. It never overheats, idles perfectly, and delivers instant power with a just quick downshift. Long-tube headers feed a trick dual exhaust system with Flowmasters and resonators, and a Ford 9-inch out back plants the power thanks to a 3.70-geared limited slip inside. Four-wheel disc brakes keep it under control, and it rides on 8- and 10-inch Torque Thrusts wearing 225/70/15 front and 275/60/15 rear BFG radials. Customs don''t get much nicer than this. This is a car that you can drive anywhere with confidence, and it will still draw a crowd anywhere it goes. Call today! This vehicle is located in our Dallas/Fort Worth showroom.
