This 1970 Chevrolet C10 pickup is one of those trucks where every time you look at it, you''ll find some new trick to admire. While at first glance it might seem fairly stock, the details reveal themselves on careful examination, with the net result being that someone got it exactly right every step of the way. The two-tone blue and white paint scheme isn''t original to the truck, but it definitely looks period correct and helps the truck maintain that careful blend of stock and custom details. The body was smoothed by guys who knew what they were doing, and every square inch of the long bed sides was finished to make this truck truly stand out. Horizontal lines can be tough to work with, but someone took the time to make sure the doors fit well and that the color was consistent from panel to panel. Black rub strips add a slightly custom look that''s clean and not as flashy as the original stainless trim, and that works extremely well with the smoothed front end. Yes, the grille''s original, but custom bumpers front and rear eliminate the big, heavy, clumsy factory pieces and instead integrate into the body for a seamless look that''s very trick. It''s rare to call a full-sized pickup sporty, but this one manages to be just that. There''s more blending of stock and custom touches inside, where a gray leather bench from a late-model pickup looks right at home. The dash was painted to match the body, and in my opinion, these trucks offer what may be the best-looking factory gauges of any GM product of the era. However, a few custom instruments have been neatly integrated into the stock dash, including a tach in the center that almost looks like it was born there. A fat leather-wrapped wheel on a tilt column feels as good in your hands as it looks to your eyes, and the TH350 3-speed automatic transmission is managed by a trick shifter on the floor. Entertainment comes via a Kenwood AM/FM/CD stereo with iPod interface, and yes, this truck does have factory A/C, now with upgraded hardware for improved performance. In back, the lift-up tonneau cover protects a fully carpeted bed that is trimmed with oak rub strips for a spectacular custom look that''s just too nice for cargo. It''s still a small block Chevy under the hood, but now bored and stroked to a stout 383 cubic inches. Every single component under the hood is new, from the Edelbrock carburetor under that tall air cleaner to the custom headers feeding a hand-built frame-hugging dual exhaust system with Flowmaster mufflers that really helps with ground clearance.. C10s of this vintage are actually some of the best riding and handling pickups, thanks to a rather sophisticated A-arm front suspension and a coil-sprung rear suspension with long control arms that really make it ride nice. It''s been lowered a bit, just enough to even it out and give it a sleek stance. Big 18-inch wheels fill the wheel wells with giant 305/55/18 Nitto radials that show the right amount of sidewall for a vintage pickup. The best customs are those that blur the line between stock and modified so well that most folks can''t see it, and that''s exactly the case with this C10. Beautifully built and very trick, it''s one awesome hauler. Call today! This vehicle is located in our Dallas/Fort Worth showroom.
