Description:

First let me say that decals on this car are 100% removable. If you''re looking for a stock 2007 Shelby GT500, there are plenty of nice, low-mileage examples around. But if you''re in the mood for something a bit more powerful-say, something to the tune of 700 horsepower-then this spectacular blown pony is what you''ve been waiting for. The color is called Vista Blue, and it''s an iridescent, electric blue that looks like a million bucks on the GT500''s hunky sheetmetal. Those are factory Le Mans stripes, augmented by a few supplier decals to give it a racetrack look that reflects some of the components Archangel Motorsports used in the build. The bodywork is pretty much stock Shelby-issue, which is certainly not a bad thing, since it accentuates the already aggressive Mustang look with a deeper chin spoiler and a custom decklid spoiler that''s both subtle and effective. Other tricks include a billet grille and vented hood, which is definitely a good idea with all that supercharged horsepower underneath. Showing just 4526 miles on the clock, this car has never really seen anything other than the inside of a garage or an outing on a sunny day, and as a high-end show piece, it has clearly enjoyed the best of care. In fact, we''re hard-pressed to find any significant marks on it anywhere, from the low-hanging chin splitter to the rocker panels. It''s obvious that someone loved this car dearly. The interior is standard Shelby GT500, including the retro-looking seats and instrument panel. Like the exterior, the black leather interior is virtually new with almost no signs of use. Shelby logos everywhere remind you that you''re not driving a run-of-the-mill Mustang and the instrument panel dazzles you with a light show every time you key it up. Auxiliary gauges for the steroid-injected motor were mounted up high and include boost, coolant temperature, and voltage readings, but otherwise everything is pretty much as the factory intended. All Shelbys came loaded with just about every option Mustangs could carry, including power windows and locks, A/C, and a thumping stereo that puts many aftermarket units to shame. The trunk is also nicely preserved with no signs that it''s ever been used. Mechanically, the GT500 is no slouch in stock form, but with a laundry list of upgrades, this one manages to pull out an estimated 700 horsepower from the DOHC 5.4-liter V8. The heart of the upgrade is a Kenne-Bell 2.8 supercharger with a custom tune from an SCT Xcaliber chip. The big blower sits on the engine like the stocker did, but channels vastly more boosted air pressure into the combustion chambers to make for impressive performance at any speed. Other upgrades include an X-pipe with high-flow cats, an upgraded fuel pump, and a heavy-duty clutch. The suspension is fortified with new control arms, sway bars, and high-performance shocks and springs all around. 4-inch Magnaflow exhaust tips give it a voracious bark, and with 3.73 gears in the rear end, it''s all you can do to keep it hooked up in the first three gears. Upgraded brakes with 2-piston calipers keep it safe, and big Shelby alloys with 245/35/20 front and 275/30/20 rear Nitto radials do their best to keep it all stuck to the pavement. If garden-variety is OK with you, then there are some nice cars out there. But if you''ve already been there and done that, then perhaps you''re ready for this GT500, which takes it to an entirely different level. Call today!
