Description:

When you''re shopping for a cool car, you''ll linger a while longer than you should on the temperamental, rip snorting muscle cars that can lift the tires off of the ground. And for some, the irritation of constant tune ups, buying race gas, and living with a monster is totally worth it. For most people, though, this clean 1970 Malibu makes a lot more sense. Small block power, highway gearing, working A/C and a friendly automatic make this a car your spouse and kids will beg to ride in every chance they get. Outside, the original (and boring) Gobi Beige was replaced with a clean Burnt Orange, and the change was well worth the effort. First, the color is completely period correct so it doesn''t stand out like a sore thumb. Secondly, it goes great with the black SS stripes laid from hood to tail. More visual firepower comes in the form of a raised cowl hood and dual chrome tips. The paint itself is a couple of years old and still shines well. Since this Malibu was well kept and cared for, nearly all of the trim you see is original, and it''s in great shape. Tinted glass is in all windows thanks to the air conditioning inside. The factory Malibu grille and fender emblems are still in their original places: The cosmetics are tastefully enhanced but this isn''t your typical "slap SS badges on it and call it a clone" car. Inside, there''s a new front seat cover on the big comfy bench. Why mention that specifically? Well, it''s just about the only thing that''s been changed in the entire cabin! You''re looking at original door panels, the original headliner, the original rear seat, the completely original dashboard and more. How many cars from 1970 can claim that? Sit down and get comfortable for a moment. Take hold of the original three spoke steering wheel and note that it takes commands in stride thanks to power steering. Adjust the factory original AM/FM radio to the station of your choice, and turn on the air conditioning. It''s been retrofitted to R134a so there are no concerns about finding Freon in some dark corner of the internet. Pop the trunk and check out the nicely applied splatter paint that''s just waiting four your road trip gear. Under the hood is what''s probably the best known powertrain combination of all time-a Chevy 350 hooked to a TH350 3-speed automatic transmission. The engine is the original numbers matching CNN-code L65 2-barrel mill and as it sits, it idles at 600 RPM, gets great gas mileage and will run practically forever. There''s a full dual exhaust system underneath with Flowmasters, so it sounds great. Visually you''ll see original parts from one side to the other, which means you''re buying an unmolested car. You''ll have no trouble finding another Chevy with a chrome air cleaner...they''re much rarer like this. Drop down and you''ll see the original frame, the original floors and well-kept mechanicals. Drum brakes are at all four corners, and there''s a new master cylinder hanging from the original power brake booster and a 10-bolt hangs out back. Steel Rally wheels run BFGoodrich 225/70R15 radials at all four corners. This car runs a drives great and looks even better. Small enhancements make a big impression while the car''s originality is unquestionable. Call today! This vehicle is located in our Dallas/Fort Worth showroom.
