The XK120 was to propel Jaguar out of the post war years and into being a major manufacturer of iconic sports and saloon cars. The pre-war designs had been shelved, and the future was to be based on cars with the looks and performance of this great car. The XK range was to cover the great years of Jaguar, both in engineering excellence, technological milestones and world class racing honours. As a sports car manufacturer, Jaguar was at the top of its game, and driving an XK in the 1950''s really would have been comparable to driving a supercar today. This beautiful example has been owned by the same family since 1990. Last year it underwent a thorough body restoration and partial mechanical restoration in our own workshops, so we can vouch for the excellent condition of the car. The body was stripped and repaired before being repainted in Old English White. The interior was reconnolised, and new overmats and boot carpet were installed. The engine and gearbox were already in excellent condition and required no major work. The carburettors were cleaned and rebuilt. The front brakes were converted to discs, and the rest of the brake system was renewed. The clutch hydraulics were also renewed. New chromed wire wheels and new tyres were fitted. The result is a beautifully detailed visually impressive car which drives superbly. A substantial history file accompanies the car together with a workshop manual.
