In 1995, this Corvette roadster was GM''s flagship and cost a whopping $46,783. Now, with the passage of time, you can own what is still a spectacular sports car for pennies on the dollar. Where else can you get a 300-horsepower, leather-lined, two-seat convertible for under $20,000? Torch Red has been a Corvette staple since the beginning and there''s a reason it continues to be among the most popular colors year after year. This 1995 ''Vette is very nicely preserved thanks to a lifetime of being a toy, not a daily driver. Only driven on nice days, regularly washed and waxed, and treated as if it were something special is not unique to Corvettes, but it makes models like this a safe bet when you''re looking for affordable fun. Fit and finish are factory-issue, as this car has never been apart, and the doors close with that characteristic Corvette "thunk" that sounds substantial, even on a convertible. The clamshell hood, urethane rear bumper, and other damage-prone parts are in excellent shape, and with a luggage rack on the rear deck, this one''s even reasonably practical as a long-distance hauler. Honestly, even after all these years, there''s something special about a Corvette convertible, don''t you think? The eyeball-searing red leather interior features fresh seat covers that match the originals exactly in pattern and materials, and come complete with embroidered Corvette logos in the headrests. Other items such as the carpets and door panels are excellent originals, further indications that this car has always been well-maintained, and those sport buckets are just as supportive and comfortable today as they were nearly 20 years ago. The digital/analog dash is full of fully functional instruments, and the 56,590 miles shown are authentic. Like most ''Vettes, this one is loaded with options, including A/C, tire pressure monitoring system, power seats, windows, mirrors, and locks, plus a powerful AM/FM/CD stereo. Overhead there''s a black convertible top which was a no-cost option that looks right with the bright red paint. Finding an LT1 Corvette that hasn''t been modified is no easy task given how insanely easy these were to tweak. Fortunately, this one is completely stock without so much as an upgraded air filter, but with 300 horsepower on tap, it really doesn''t need any help. Smooth, powerful, torquey, and always ready to party, the LT1 was the pinnacle of the original small block Chevy''s development, so much so that it remains a favorite among rodders building their ultimate rides. All the factory-issued equipment is intact, from the snorkel feeding the low-profile intake to the reverse-rotation water pump driven by the camshaft for improved reliability. It''s backed by a quick-witted 4-speed automatic overdrive that makes this car a shark in traffic, able to blast from opening to opening with just a twitch of your right foot. The sure-footed suspension had been tamed by 1995, offering incredible grip without a bone-crunching ride, and Corvette brakes have been famously powerful for years. Gorgeous A-mold wheels are still among the best-looking factory alloys ever created and wear new 255/40/17 front and 285/40/17 rear Kumho radials. Complete with reproduction window sticker and build sheet, you can buy with confidence. Summer''s right around the corner, and it''s time you treated yourself to some plastic fantastic. Call today!
