To answer your first question, yes, this is a real RS, and if you''re looking for a clean second-gen Camaro that you can drive without worries, this is an awesome choice. Finished in brilliant Cranberry Red paint, this awesome 1970 RS also features a muscular 350, factory A/C, and enough performance to make it interesting on the street. The body was professionally refinished, and all of the metalwork is professionally done with a seamless blend of old and new components. It hasn''t been dressed up like a fake Z/28 or anything like that, and the result is that the slick body speaks for itself with little more than a subtle chin spoiler and the Camaro''s famous ducktail spoiler out back. The paint was done in 1990, but it''s holding up extremely well after all these years-after all, how much does your hobby car get driven each year? Shine it up, throw a coat of wax on it this Saturday, and you''re ready for cruising. Up front there''s a correct blacked-out grille flanked by stylish bumperettes, while out back four round taillights make the second-generation Camaro instantly recognizable from a distance. A mixture of original equipment with a few upgrades greets you inside. The black buckets have been fully restored with new covers, which match the door panels perfectly. Excellent carpets make it look showroom fresh, and the dash pad is unblemished. Upgrades include the auxiliary gauges under the original instrument panel, as well as an AM/FM/CD stereo in the original slot in the dash. A center console is always a nice perk, especially with a horseshoe shifter for the TH350 3-speed automatic underneath. Under that cool deck lid spoiler is a super solid trunk complete with spatter finish paint. The engine is a 350 that pulls the relatively lightweight F-body around with real authority. The engine bay is nicely detailed to look stock, including Chevy Orange paint on the engine, a stock air cleaner with reproduction decals, and even a set of nice cast iron exhaust manifolds. It starts quickly and runs beautifully, which shouldn''t be a surprise for a small-block-equipped Camaro, and it''s proof that you don''t need a Z/28 to have performance that''ll scare your girlfriend on the street. Recent Flowmaster mufflers make it sound fast, even at idle, and while you''re under there, please note that the floors are so clean you can still see the original red oxide primer. The brakes have been recently replaced and there are fresh tie rods up front so it tracks like a cruise missile on the highway. Finally, it rolls on a set of handsome 17-inch Torque Thrusts and 235/40/17 front and 275/40/17 rear performance radials. Someone spent an awful lot of money on this RS, endowing it with some smart and practically invisible upgrades that pay big dividends on the street. The engine revs easily and the rest of the driveline is virtually bulletproof, so it has a lot of fun left in it. Add in the dazzling bodywork and handsome interior, and it makes this F-body worth considerably more than the sum of its parts. Call now! This vehicle is located in our Charlotte showroom.
