Description:

Are you one of those guys who bought a bright yellow H2 thinking it was the baddest of the bad? Or maybe you really had one of those shiny civilian H1s like the Governator? Well, you''ve just been one-upped with this mil-spec 1993 Humvee Special Forces Edition that is not only identical to those used in the military, but was actually deployed to Desert Storm. Although the war ended before it saw action, it was certainly ready to get the dirty work done. Today, it only exists because the Department of Defense was unsuccessful in recalling it and most of its 397 brothers. This is NOT some dressed up H1, but a genuine military-grade HMMWV. With only 4856 miles, it''s had a very special, very sheltered life, but it''s not like that was necessary because this sucker is LITERALLY built for combat. The matte finish is the correct desert camo scheme, it has the original canvas doors and top, and all the other features that make it stand out. See that winch on the front? It''ll lift the entire truck up a vertical cliff face or hang it from a (very big) tree limb. That tube next to the windshield is a military-grade snorkel which feeds the engine, so it can ford deep water without stalling. There are mounting points for all kinds of hardware, a lot of which we''re not even allowed to know about. And that brush guard on the front will probably push over a house. The interior is military grade as well, with canvas seats for four passengers and more of that tan paint on every square inch of metal. A canvas wrapper around the center tunnel does a little to control noise and heat inside, but you''re a soldier, suck it up and deal with it. The gauges and switchgear are all ultra-heavy-duty and built to take a beating, and the exposed fasteners and other hardware is totally military grade authentic. There is no radio, but the electrical system is EMP-proof and generates enough electricity to power a medium-sized radio station. The canvas doors and top provide a modicum of weather protection, stretched over a steel frame that''s easily removed for open-air motoring. There are warning labels and instruction tags everywhere you look, and all of it is in nearly new condition. The engine is a 6.2 liter diesel V8 that''s distantly related to the ones in your GM pickup, but as with the rest of this HMMWV, it''s grossly over-built. It has been recently and comprehensively serviced, including new fluids, hoses, belts, glow plugs, axle boots, seals, and brakes, so it''s ready to rock. We took it storming through a nearby forest and the sucker was completely unstoppable and surprisingly comfortable thanks to its innovative suspension that provides unparalleled ground clearance. Inboard disc brakes are at both ends (the axle and suspension assemblies are identical at both ends for easy repairs in the field), and the electrical and fuel systems are completely enclosed within the vehicle-it can go through just about any kind of awful without worries about damaging something fragile underneath. The wheels are magnesium with run-flat tires, so you won''t even notice when things start to go sideways. Used in National Lampoon''s "Van Wilder: Freshman Years" this is totally the real deal. Arnold couldn''t get one, and this is possibly the lowest-mile example in existence. Let''s see your neighbor top THIS. Call today! This vehicle is located in our Atlanta showroom.
