The bottom line on this astounding pro-touring 1969 Camaro is that you can own one of the nastiest F-bodies we''ve ever seen for pennies on the dollar. Looking at this car''s long, long list of equipment and modifications, as well as the quality of the workmanship, and it''s obvious that over-the-top simply wasn''t enough for the guy who built it. It''s amazing. The Camaro''s bodywork glows with a coat of Prowler Orange paint, a cool copper metallic that is both the height of fashion and incredibly aggressive. Bodywork was expertly done, with straight quarters, exacting panel gaps, and a few custom tricks like the fully functional hood scoop. Traditional tricks include the Z/28 spoilers front and rear, and the blacked-out RS grille up front that includes the hidden headlights. The only real advertising it does are the ''638'' badges on the front fenders, a small nod to the mountain motor living under that custom hood scoop. Even the original chrome bumpers remain, adding to the factory look and perhaps even convincing would-be competitors that this car isn''t the threat that it is. In short, the level of integration on this car is very impressive. The interior offers a set of leather buckets from a 2001 Camaro, keeping this F-body''s DNA intact. Supremely comfortable and supportive enough for the athletic maneuvers of which this car is capable, the cockpit was built for performance in true pro-touring fashion. Even the back seat was sculpted and upholstered to match. The original gauges have been replaced by Auto Meter pieces that give a complete view of the engine, and the Hurst shifter for the T56 6-speed underneath falls to hand easily. An original SS steering wheel remains in place, hanging on a custom tilt column, and the center console houses the ignition key, starter button, and a connection for your laptop computer to tune the fuel injection system. The trunk has been modified to handle the mini tubs, but still has enough room for a week''s worth of luggage, as well as the battery. Big horsepower is not a problem with a massive 638 cubic inch big block. Topped by a programmable FAST fuel injection system, it snarls to life instantly and idles easily thanks to modern technology, yet delivers whiplash-inducing acceleration at any speed. The engine bay has been fully dressed for show, including a smoothed firewall and tons of polished aluminum. You''ll also note that conveniences like A/C, power steering, and power disc brakes have been fitted, so this car is easy and comfortable when you''re not going all-out. The suspension offers A-arms and coil-overs up front, and a Ford 9-inch hanging on a 4-link with adjustable air shocks in back. Exhaust is compliments of a 3-inch system with Flowmasters and turn-downs just ahead of the axle, and it rolls on massive 17x8 front and 17x11 Torque Thrusts wearing 245/45/17 and 335/35/17 Michelins, respectively.
