The 1964 Impala is just as iconic today as it was when it was new. As a testament to their enduring popularity, just watch any music video or check out the garage of a pro athlete''s home-they''re all rolling in vintage Impalas just like this lovely Silver Blue Metallic hardtop. Sporting its original 327 and Powerglide drivetrain and an older repaint that looks highly authentic, it''s next summer''s best bet for stylish cruising. Yes, this is a real code 18 Impala sport coupe, and its rarity doesn''t come from low production numbers, but rather from the fact that it isn''t a fake SS. Instead, it''s a clean, authentic, honest Impala with factory sheetmetal and a clean bill of health, thanks to living in a warm climate most of its life. The paint was done several years ago, and carries a soft gloss that accurately replicates the original enamel, giving it a finish that could very well pass for original. There''s absolutely no rust and no evidence that this car has ever been damaged, and the body fits together as only a clean original car can. All the chrome and stainless trim is original, which will tell you just how clean this car truly is. Inside, the original blue cloth and vinyl interior remains in exceptionally good condition. Refreshed at some point, it''s a nice blend of original styling and some more up-to-date materials that are more inviting than the originals, without being obvious. Both seats are in excellent condition, and even the driver''s seat shows very little wear. Recent carpets are the correct color and weave, protected by a set of matching blue floor mats. Beautiful new door panels and a fresh headliner round out the soft parts. Also note that this Imp carries factory A/C, with proper dash vents and controls. A modern AM/FM/cassette stereo has been seamlessly fitted to the original dash location, and even uses the original knobs! The rust-free trunk offers a correct set of mats and a full-sized spare tire assembly. The original 327 cubic inch V8 remains under the hood, and was a step up from the basic 283. Nicely preserved and obviously well maintained, it runs like a small block Chevy should, with easy road manners and an awesome V8 soundtrack. It''s also nicely detailed, with correct valve covers and decals, an original air cleaner, and reproduction hoses and clamps that were recently installed. The factory A/C system is fully functional, along with the power steering and brakes, making this big Chevy a wonderful cruiser. The 2-speed Powerglide automatic transmission shifts well and feeds the original rear end, and while you''re under there, please note that the original floors, frame, and other components are 100% rust-free. There''s also a brand new dual exhaust system and fresh 215/75/14 radials on the original wheels and hubcaps. This Impala is a timeless collectable that''s also wonderful to drive. Call today!
