Description:

When the new Mustang debuted in 2005, there was no doubt that performance was a priority at Ford. Teaming up with old friend Carroll Shelby, the 2007 Shelby GT500 was the fastest, most powerful car Ford had ever built. Living up to the legacy of Shelby Mustangs of the past can''t be easy, but with 500 supercharged horsepower, it easily outperforms its historic predecessors. This 2007 Shelby GT500 convertible is the top-of-the-line model, packed with almost every available option, and showing just 2492 original miles (no, that''s not a misprint). Obviously never a daily driver, this car presents in new condition throughout, which is the highest praise we can offer. The color is called Tungsten Grey, of which only 138 were built in 2007. The effect is a subtle, clean Mustang that does a pretty good job of staying under the radar until you crack open the twin bore throttle body under the hood. Beautifully maintained since new by a fanatical enthusiast owner, there are almost no signs of use or road rash anywhere on the body, and the finish is simply superb. Rocker-panel-mounted satin silver stripes accent the GT500 in a traditional fashion, with GT500 callouts behind the front wheels. Of course, a Shelby wouldn''t be a Shelby without some Cobra badges, so this one sports coiled snakes on both front fenders, as well as offset in the wide front grille. In back, a Shelby gas cap is a tip of the hat to past Mustangs and a stylized Shelby badge on the deck lid leaves no secret about the car that just hammered past. The spectacular interior is done in optional black and red leather, which provides vivid contrast to the Tungsten bodywork. The seats are deep and supportive, and the leather remains in absolutely new condition in every way with only the slightest signs that anyone has ever been behind the wheel. The shifter knob is aluminum, and metallic trim is scattered about the cabin, and there''s contrasting red stitching on the shifter boot and steering wheel. Compared to the Mustang GT''s gauge pack, the speedometer and tachometer have swapped places (the tach''s on the right), and there''s now a boost gauge and a message center. Additionally, the front seats have more lateral bolstering to hold you in place during hard cornering. The center of the dash features Shelby''s signature as well as the car''s serial number, conclusively identifying it for future collectors. The black convertible top is excellent, and the trunk is as new in every way. Under that air-extractor hood you''ll find Ford''s 5.4 liter DOHC 32 valve supercharged V8, which is descended from the powerplant in the Ford GT supercar. The supercharger features a liquid-to-air intercooler and makes 8.5 pounds of boost at full song. The engine makes a spectacular mechanical sound under the hood, and the exhaust note is a bellowing baritone that you''ll downshift just to hear in long tunnels. The Mustang''s suspension has been heavily fortified to cope with this additional horsepower, with stiffer shocks, higher-rate springs and an upgraded stabilizer bar. The solid-axle rear suspension uses upgraded springs as well, along with a Panhard rod to control wheel movement. Brakes are by Brembo, with massive 14-inch rotors and six-piston calipers in front, and 11.8-inch rotors and two-piston calipers in back, assisted by ABS and traction control, of course. Gorgeous Shelby-exclusive forged aluminum wheels measure 18x9.5 and wear 255/45/18 front and 285/40/18 rear Goodyear F1 tires, which show no evidence of abuse or hard driving. Documentation includes all the original paperwork like the window sticker, owner''s manuals, brochures, as well as the original bill of sale. The Shelby GT500 is a legend, and the 2007 is certainly worthy of the name. This beautifully preserved car is virtually showroom new in every way, and for a collector or the guy who wants an incredible summer cruiser, this is the one to own. Fast, sophisticated, and surprisingly capable in the turns, it''s a far better all-around performer than the original, and with Carroll Shelby''s name on it, future collectability is practically guaranteed. Give us a call today and get yourself into a Shelby. This vehicle is located in our Atlanta showroom. For more information, please call (678) 279-1609 or toll free (877) 367-1835.
