Description:
The cars features include: a 4-speed wide-ratio transmission, power steering and power disc/drum brakes, console, an original Ford AM radio with a dealer installed rear speaker kit, new deluxe steering wheel, styled steel wheels, GT equipment which includes a blackened front grill, twin hood domes with integrated turn signals, GT fender badges, GT interior badges and a black GT side stripe. The clock has been converted to quartz and keeps perfect time, tinted glass, visibility group and an updated Traction-Lok differential w/3.25 axle ratio compliment the car. The car has the optional Ford tachometer that has been upgraded with new electronics and works perfectly. The cars color is original Wimbledon White with black interior.
About the mechanics, the power brake booster was rebuilt along with new rear brake cylinders and resurfaced drums. The front disc brakes were rebuilt several years ago by the previous owner and work perfectly. There is a new Centerforce II diaphragm clutch, pressure plate and throwout bearing. The 4-speed top loader transmission and Ford shifter assembly have been completely rebuilt. The front-end is solid, many suspension parts were recently replaced. Four new shock absorbers are installed. The exhaust system is newer and is 2 ½ inch with low restriction mufflers.
Parts of the interior are original and in phenomenal condition for their age. The carpets were replaced along with the windlace, doorsills, front door panels, front armrests and window rubber moldings. The original rear door panels are in good shape along with the dash, headliner and kick panels. The dash bezels have been rechromed by CVP and look brand new. The seat upholstery is in great original shape.
The car was built and delivered with the 390 S code GT motor. The engine features include a Ford aluminum Police Interceptor intake manifold and was bored .030 over. The engine has all the original GT chrome and correct GT air cleaner. There is no need to speculate, this car is FAST. To commemorate this engine upgrade a Tasca Ford dealer emblem is affixed to the left lower truck lid.
All NOS/original, used/original or Ford approved repo parts were used in the cars reconditioning. The odometer is showing 98,061 miles, which is original. There are just a few imperfections/chips in the paint and body, the car still looks good for a 5 year old restoration. Everything works on this car. Most all the outside chrome strips and emblems have been replaced and the bumpers have been rechromed. One note, the car was built from the factory with a black vinyl roof. The vinyl roof was removed to give the car a more sinister look. The chrome vinyl roof trim pieces are included with the sale of the car if you wish to reinstall the vinyl roof. Also, the front grill was painted flat black, again, to give it that sinister look. E-mail me for any questions or for better pictures. The original Marti report is included with the sale of the car. The car was featured in Legendary Ford Magazine and The Fairlaner. Was reduced from $33,995.
